Scorpions singer vs Dio? ..

Don't get me wrong I love Dio's voice when he still had it.. but I like the scorpion's guys voice better... he has amazing range.. was just watching some scorpions videos today... and i like the slight accent in his singing...

there both midgets and look like long lost brothers lol but other then that i would say because they both have a very nice range ... clear, precise, can sing the high notes like it was nothing etc... just that i like Klaus's voice better for some reason...

Dio STILLhas the voice as I atested last August live here. As for Klaus I don't know for sure, I listen to both live back in 2002...and Gillan ended kicking ass afterwards with Deep Purple

Regarding their vocal talents, I believe Dio is a better singer as a whole but Klaus definitively has a mark of his own, a very distinctive tone which had gave Scorpions an edge all these years.

They are Both great singers. But I like more Dio. He is more metal.

it's not a matter of more metal... this is not about comparing the music... it's about their voices... when you say he is more metal to me it sounds like your comparing the music and the other band members and not the vocals... I just picked those two because they are similar to each other almost.. both short (which i think contributes to a fantastic voice), able to do those high pitches in key without batting a sweat etc...

I want to see them this year if they are coming around here.. I never seen them live... one of the few bands from 70's and 80's that are still around that i want to see...

Klaus Meine's accent in his singing has gone away a bit since the 80's era, but he still has quite the punch he used to! Dio I think has a bit more power but I think that has to do with the different song styles, writings.

They are both amazing vocalist and great, kind, peaceful and giving men. And if they were to have a singing duel, I'd be happy to be the referee!

I think it's pointless to compare such greats and go like "he's better"...
They're a league of their own where all are equally great, but it's just up to someone's taste to like one more or less...

Obviously I think they are both fantastic but I reckon DIO gets my vote - his voice is just a fraction more SENSATIONAL.

And what I want to know is this, when the hell is Heaven & Hell gonny announce some UK dates - I'm getting somewhat impatient here!!!!!

I don't think Dio had surgery... We almost lost Klaus' voice in 1980-81 thankfully the surgery was a success and he's still around to Rock you like a hurricane!
1948 Klaus- 1942 is the rumor for Dio, unconfirmed birth year.

The Blackout album was were Dokken came in. If you listen you can definately hear Don singing... Whatever it takes!
