Scorpions singer vs Dio? ..

I want to see them this year if they are coming around here.. I never seen them live... one of the few bands from 70's and 80's that are still around that i want to see...

I saw Dio a few years ago with Motohead and Iron Maiden...he still has an incredible voice :headbang: Oh wait...you are talking about the Scorpions...yeah I am still waiting for them to tour over here, that is one band that I would travel almost anywhere in the US to see...

I don't think Dio had surgery... We almost lost Klaus' voice in 1980-81 thankfully the surgery was a success and he's still around to Rock you like a hurricane!
1948 Klaus- 1942 is the rumor for Dio, unconfirmed birth year.

I bought the book Dio - Light Beyond The Black (by Martin Popoff) and it's written that Dio was born on July 10th, 1940. So, he's now 66, still got the pipes and is a true phenomenon! I can't wait to see Heaven & Hell live at the end of March here!

I saw Scorpions live last summer and Klaus Meine still sings great too.

Well, you just have to travel to Montreal, Canada cause the Scorps will play there this summer.

I checked the flight prices when they announced the dates. $$$$$$ from California. I'm just waiting for the rest of the tour dates and hopefully they won't collide with my ProgPower trip!

there u go.. him... he is awesome imo and so underrated..

I heard Mattias sounds like crap now, but that is only what I heard. His work on the mid-80's Scorpions releases are up there with any "guitar God" from the era. Having said that, Dieter Dirks (Scorpions producer in the 80's) may be the greatest "guitar producer" ever to walk this earth. Wolf Hoffmann was a totally different monster from that point on when Dieter produced "Metal Heart" back in 1984 as well.

As far as Klaus vs. Dio...... I have to only slightly lean Ronnie's way. Both have different styles and both kick ass at what they do.

I guess what makes me lean toward Ronnie are the more mystical songs like "Don't Talk to Strangers."

I hope that's not true and perhaps its from non musicians you heard this from or from extreme metal fans whom if you don't play 1,000,000 bpm's then you don't qualify as good lol and yes Dirks is/was a amazing producer... he was able to bring out the best in anyone...

Dio Is like a million times better than the other guy. There is a new album about him called The Dio Years That is a greatest hits album of the Dio era of Black Sabbath. There will be 3 new songs and it should be kick ass.

In your mind maybe... but that's what makes this place great. I myself am a HUUUUUUUUUUGE Scorps fan but still think they are both great, fantastic and amazing singers and each have their own style, sound and characteristics.

Im with kitty on this... it's one thing to be a Huge Dio fan but to say Klaus is not a good singer that has no range is not being fair... to me Klaus is Dio's good vs evil twin lol both are midgets with long range voices... and you have to admit they sort of look like each other except Dio has the evil looking face....
