And don't forget the boys fighting to keep it from happening again

i never forget about that 17 of my union brothers that dyed even the kid that was in the my class. here in the city it was lil dead. i saw people but not alot but not alot them of on the subways like usally on my way to work in the wee hours of the morn. but we had moment of silence today. which was a great way to remember our union borthers that passed.i still pist, aht happened and i will never forget. morn for the dead fight for the leaving.

I'm glad Al Gore isn't President.
Did anyone see that "Seven Days In September" thing on A&E (I think)?
I could never in a million years imagine what it must have been like to live in N.Y. when that happened. It was upsetting enough just being an American, and going through that, but living in N.Y. I don't know...

I live in San Diego, and I remember that day as vivid as if it happened yesterday. Even to this day I get all choked up with tears when I see images of what happened. 9-11 messed me up for a few months afterwards. I could not imaging what I would be like if I lived in NY.

Last night I was watching a show, and they were playing actual last phone calls from people trapped in the towers, and people on the planes. I was in tears. I could not sleep that night. I cried for a long time thinking what if that was my wife, or what if I was trapped and calling my wife, and family.

I have a new respect for life since 9-11. I take the time to just stop and smell the roses. Everyone should do that to. You just never know. Life is so precious, and its not worth it sweating the small stuff.

AMERICA RULES

Hey NY, LA will always have your back. I still remember the second I was first told about the first tower. Last year at this time I heard about fireman writing their Socical Security numbers on their arms before they went into the towers, so they could be identified, because they knew they probably would make it out. They went anyway, what loyalty, courage, strength and discipline.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts folks. I figured people would just use this thread to lash out about the President.
We don't need this thread to lash out at him, all I've got to do is walk down the sidewalk and talk to all my friends and neighbors about how "good" a job he is doing. That is what you wanted to hear, right?

I don't want to hear it just expected to. Everyone has their own opinion and prioities. I just happen to think hes doing a good job as president. You think he sucks. And thats okay. I thought Clinton was a discrace to the Office and you probably thought different. And thats okay. I just wanted people to pause for a second and think about 9-11 two years ago, not let party politics get in the way of really important things.

Well said. I was actually happy with the way this years 9/11 was handled. It was a lot less saturated in the news, which was cool, let's get back to normalcy and not dwell. A moment of silence for the lives lost, but we don't Katie Fucking Couric doing 8 hours at ground zero with Dubya in a jumpsuit - thankfully we seem to be past that.
