Sequels as good or better.........

Clerks was brilliant. Clerks II was pretty damn funny but I don't think it really came close to the first one.

Dark Knight > Batman Begins
Aliens > Alien
Empire Strikes Back > A New Hope

You pretty much covered it right here. I'd say Aliens is as good as Alien, but in a very different way. As for the other two, I think the sequels are better in both cases.

The Terminator movies are a tough call, but I think I'd have to go with the first one.

And I have the feeling that few (if any) will agree, but I've always enjoyed Die Hard: With a Vengeance as much as Die Hard.

I think everyone can agree that they've seen at least some good second movies. But i challenge you to name a good second or more sequel. I think i've never seen one that doesn't suck, apart from Ass Openers 18 that is. Trilogies dont count.

I dont think so, as with a trilogy like Lord Of The Rings every movie follows the same story. I'm more thinking of these kind of movies where the story has nothing to do with the original movie, where usually no sequels were initially planned.

hellboy 2

No way. Seriously? The first one was cooler and funnier. The only better thing about the second was that Selma was sexier.

AvP R was a shit ton better

But both films sucked pretty hard. The second was only better because it was gorier (as those movies are supposed to be).

I love Aliens and Alien both, but if I want a good time, I'm going with Aliens.

Bill Paxton fucking made that film.

"Maybe you haven't been keepin' up on current events but we just got our asses kicked pal!"

The Aliens films set different moods.

I definitely agree. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Die Hard: With a Vengeance might even be better than the first. I think it's more interesting and exciting.
