The song Impulse is the song I'm really refering to. This song is in Guitar Hero 3's bonus tracks section and I found it to be quite awesome (one of my faves in the game). There are some nice bass grooves, and some tasty solos. Check it out!
I just found out that they actually wrote this song for the game... sweet.

This band surprised me. It's maybe not the most original band, but pretty good if you like bands like Sonata Arctica (I personally don't but this is still quite good)

Yep, i've heard of them and i think i have their album for over a year now. Great album and band.
Seen them live last april (not their best gig due to technical problems and health issues of their singer) at the Headway Festival here in Holland. Would love to see them again (already suggested them as a band on this years bill for PP Scandinavia).

This album is definitely ear-worthy.
I like that they are a prog-metal band with a bluesy singer and a penchant for hooky-harmonies. These are the reasons I started listening to Symphony X in the first place.
Now, if they could just get rid of that echo voice on the chorus of "Not An Angel", I'd give the album an almost perfect score. Reminds me of:
"You gave love...a bad name!'
"Baaaaad naaaaaame."
Truly annoying.
