heh downloaded the new slipknot song thing out of morbid curiosity and was very surprised to hear solos (!). Not pussy ones either, it would seem that these guys can actually play. I'd almost go as far as to say jeff loomisey (lots of sweep picking). The actual song isn't anythin to write home about though. Just thought it was interesting.

No it's not an april fools I've heard it too. The song is pretty mediocre apart from the solo. Anyway Slipknot's first album mate feed kill repeat (not the self titled - stupid trendy kids) has a few cracking solos on it so it's nothing new.
