should I trade my 1960 classic for a mesa oversized?

Mesa cabs have V30s so there is a huge mid spike, a lot of guitarists (non-engineers) actually find the mids to overwhelming... Mesa cabs just sound great period, I love mine!
So as an engineer mids would be good enough, that's exactly what I'm looking for.
I want a cab that will have good clean and capable of good midrangy crunch but I also want it to reveal the metal side of my dual rec.
I listened to audio clips comparing the mesa cab to a marshall with v30s in it and I would've prefered a sound between the two, the marshall really had agressive mids and the mesa sounded more polished but I guess that with a little tweaking on the amp the mesa cab probably could push some dirty mids out too.
I really thnk I'll go with the mesa first so I have a "complete" rig for my studio and later on I'll add some other cabs, maybe one marshall with v30s, one with greenbacks and some vintage fender...That'd be great (I'm not into metal only, I really enjoy 90"s alternative, grunge stuff)
thanks
