Mackie 32.8?

What do you actually use it for??

Hot damn...

First off, AudioPhile, that stuff is nuts! Do you really need that many cabs, though? Why not ditch the Peavey at least? And why two HD147's?!?!

Second, Co, I love the integration there; that little cube PC is sweet as hell.

Third, Metalworks, I'm just in awe...that Universe and RG/JEM w/ the maple neck are absolutely to die for! What kinda Ampeg head is that? (meaning, is it a VH140?). Why the horizontal mounting of the HR824's, though? I seem to remember reading something about phasing issues with mounting vertical monitors sideways...

And finally, Savo, I'm not too sure about the Jerry Horton model, but I love that Engl! What kinda speakers are in that cab?

:) When i bought that Schecter years ago the standard C-1 just came with Duncan Designed pick-ups and the Jerry Horton model was only $100 more and came with a Duncan Distortion and a Jazz in the neck. Seemed stupid to me to get the regular C-1. I could live with the logo if it meant having better pick-ups.

I just have GT-75s in the cab. I have to get a cab with V-30s soon though just to have both options

metalworks, you have a sweet looking recording rig there!

what kinda pre's are you running there?

Unfortunately I only have 1 outboard preamp.

I use a Grace Design Model 101 for Vocals, Guitars, and sometimes bass direct.

I am stuck using my Mackie 32.8 pre's for the moment. I would like to get all new pre's in the future but that of course takes time and money.

If you go to my myspace you can see pics of my gear as I don't have a pic hosting site but the pres on the Mackie 32.8 aren't bad for tracking drums I use a A R T tube per for vocals

i know the feeling, i'm saving up for a presonus firestudio i'll be using for pretty much everything for quite some time

I have gear everywhere.

If I was single it would be worse.

Damn your rig is awesome  But why do you have the speakers lying down like that?

I tryed laying them down so I could hear the highs a little better at ear level since I dont have any sound treatment at the moment and it can be bass heavy at times.

Seemed to help a little until I get my Control room built properly. :goggly:

it's the lee jackson-designed VL-1002

I don't know how many people have actually tryed an amp by Lee Jackson or the Ampeg VL-1002, but it has its own sound. When you do pinch harmonics on it you cant help but grin.

If you ever liked the guitar tone from Ozzy's No More Tears album or Rob Halfords band Fight, War of Words album, they were both Ampeg VL-1002 era.

I unfortunately have to use alot of the Pre's for drums at the moment. Other than that, it is the central hub for monitoring playback, headphone mixes, talkback, etc.

For now it will do, ideally I would like to have a Control 24 or a D Command.
Could you also use the Control 24/D Command to EQ the source signal before it goes to tape? (I suppose you've set your direct outs to post EQ/pre Fader and use the Mackie's channel strip to tweak the sound a bit before going from the direct outs to the interface!?)
