metalworks, you have a sweet looking recording rig there!
what kinda pre's are you running there?

Hot damn...
And finally, Savo, I'm not too sure about the Jerry Horton model, but I love that Engl! What kinda speakers are in that cab?
What kinda Ampeg head is that? (meaning, is it a VH140?).
I have gear everywhere.
If I was single it would be worse.

Damn your rig is awesomeBut why do you have the speakers lying down like that?

Mackie 32.8?
What do you actually use it for??
Unfortunately I only have 1 outboard preamp.
I use a Grace Design Model 101 for Vocals, Guitars, and sometimes bass direct.
I am stuck using my Mackie 32.8 pre's for the moment. I would like to get all new pre's in the future but that of course takes time and money.

I tryed laying them down so I could hear the highs a little better at ear level since I dont have any sound treatment at the moment and it can be bass heavy at times.
Seemed to help a little until I get my Control room built properly.![]()
it's the lee jackson-designed VL-1002
Could you also use the Control 24/D Command to EQ the source signal before it goes to tape? (I suppose you've set your direct outs to post EQ/pre Fader and use the Mackie's channel strip to tweak the sound a bit before going from the direct outs to the interface!?)I unfortunately have to use alot of the Pre's for drums at the moment. Other than that, it is the central hub for monitoring playback, headphone mixes, talkback, etc.
For now it will do, ideally I would like to have a Control 24 or a D Command.
I don't know how many people have actually tryed an amp by Lee Jackson or the Ampeg VL-1002, but it has its own sound. When you do pinch harmonics on it you cant help but grin.
What mixer is that?
damn, that was my first guess. i only thought the surface would have to be darker...onyx 1640
