lurch watched this, so did I. Anybody else?

I've watched things that have made me mad, things that have made me sad, and things that have forced me to down a few drinks just to get through because they so affected by person, but nothing made me stop breathing in sheer rage like this movie. Summary: the health care system in the US is extremely fucked up. It treats symptoms rather than causes, while making as much money as possible via drug pushers. I'll agree with that overall conclusion.

Personal bit: one week ago I said fuckit and stopped taking a prescription medicine, cold turkey, for the first time in ten years. Ten years! I have seen countless doctors, had numerous tests, and nothing worked accept staying on their damn pills and feeding the beast. At the conclusion of week one, I discovered a simple home remedy that (so far), has worked miracles. No doctor, specialist, nurse, receptionist, or pharmacist told me about this. Why? Because it is cheap and does not line the pockets of any whitecoat labtypes.

Yes yes, Michael Moore is biased, and he's fat, and regardless of his imperfect methods, he's fighting the good fight god dammit. At least give him that. If you don't, you're probably part of the 50% of Americans who vote for tax cuts for the upper 1% of the wealthiest fucks around. Good thinking.

Lose the liberal whine and insult, it won't get people to listen. What home remedy do you use?

Garlic and Onion as opposed to Cialis eh?!?! What is this commie blathering on about now?!? The fact that the medical system is a corrupt institution, or the idea that I should be paying for the health care of a dozen jobless negars?!? If it's the former, I may be interested.

Maybe*

How anybody still buys in to this guy's crap is beyond me. Thanks for the clip Neal.

Here's the Whose Body show for those who can't be arsed. I'm going to watch this after I pick up some fine cuisine.

Poor guy dies during the middle of a briefing with congress, then is carried away down several flights of stairs to a medical center where all the oxygen tanks are out being "serviced".

Go Columbia!!

Yayyyyyyyy Obama Care! 700 peeps are being laid off at work as a preemptive measure against Curious Octaroon's socialist bullshit. I'm in the clear, seems like the institution is gunning for all the old fuddy duddies to take a hearty severance package and wilt off in to the sunset. Pretty fucked up, especially considering they just dropped 800mil on a new building, and have routinely given out bonus checks every year since I started working there. All Hail OBAMA!!!!!!!

Don't even give a rat's ass about politics anymore, but you'd better bet your ass I'll be voting against this gnat trap come November.

You have got to be fucking kidding me, lololol at anyone believing anything this fat fucking piece of shit traitor (not just kneejerk reaction, have you seen 'Farenheit 9/11'? Holy guacamole) ever produces ever. If it has Michael Moore's name on it it might as well be thrown in the garbage.

Seriously, the left has been pissing me off more and more each day. The only reason they are so ardent in their ridiculous beliefs is that they live in geographical bubles where everyone just circle jerks about the same social issues, sucking each others dicks with vigor over just how right and just all their causes are. Give me a break. I was born and raised in MA so this comes from experience. It is seriously getting outrageous.

I just today had a look at my sisters health care paperwork (here in MA their is socialized healthcare for lower income and some other things) and right in big bold letters on the front: "$120.00 off acupuncture treatments". It is unbelieavable to me that I would be paying for that. I am seriously going to offer to help her pay for real healthcare so I can put my money where my mouth is (which I do a lot) and support my community and family by choice and not because the government forces me to (and than puts my earnings into bullshit I don't want them to anyways). "Hurr durrrr one of the most socialist states in the Republic yet we have 23948723 toll roads derp derperrrooo hurrrrr". Also "Hurrr derp derp we are social democrats derpidy doooo the people should run the state and economy derrrdurrrpy but wait they aren't responsible enough to have guns derppleeidddippeeedooooo".

Yes I mad bro.

Land of the free, HOME OF THE BRAVE. Not coddled little pussies that need nanny-states to monitor their every move. Fuck.

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Of course I am. I would help ANY American get 'tax cuts' (lol at such a loaded term, by the way. Most people are too lazy to realize their own tax breaks and benifits anyways, they are busy being angry at 'the rich'.) We started a little tussle called the Revolutionary War over less than what is going on now. I guess if our big 'ol loving government does it and not someone else it's fine?

this I can agree with ...

you guys would kill me if you knew how much taxes I (don't)pay.

Tully, how did you feel about taxation when you were in the military and your entire salary was paid for by taxes? And I'm assuming you are, or will at some point, taking advantage of Tri-Care, which, to state the obvious, is tax-funded socialized medicine.

I'm just struggling to understand your stance. It seems hypocritical.

There is a few different ways to answer that:

One is that I'm not as vehemently anti-all-taxes as it may seem in that post. It is more important to me that people realize that they shouldn't just accept taxation as a solution. Ie: If at the moment it is necessary for us to levy more taxes in order to fix our economic situation people should have a sick feeling about that. Sure, you may have to ask your parents for help sometimes but you don't enjoy it and you PAY THEM BACK because you are an adult and take care of yourself. Also, I love some socialized programs (Libraries, NASA, the military, public schools) and I have no clue how else they could exist (I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm not the one to say how at the moment) so I can't be entirely against taxes. But, to say that we are using taxes as a bandaid for A LOT more than is necessary right now: I feel that is true.

Another way is that you have no other option while you are in the military; you are enrolled in Tri-Care while you are in Boot Camp (at least in the Marine Corps). Tri-Care is the equivalent of employee health benefits in the civilian world. Again, the system isn't perfect but that's not going to stop me from being a Patriot and serving my country. As a Marine you are employed by the government, earning their benefits, not begging them for scraps by merit of existence. You are EARNING government services.

I guess when people so non-chalantly talk about steeling a specific group of American's money it sets off a nerve and I go into full on devil's advocate mode. My stance is not moderate at all but it may be a little (only a little, like I siad, I like public schooles, etc.) Right-Wing.
