right if your playing your bog standard 2 note powerchord, if your using B as the root, what is the 5th, is it F or F# cos when i used to play keyboard i'd use B and F but using the bod standard powerchord fingering it would be F#

hence me confused

ps i learnt to do pinch harmonics yesterday :)

pss not bad for someone who's been playing guitar for less than 6 months :p

Keeping it simple

Here's a B Scale

B C# D# E F# G# A# B

That being from the major scale formula WWHWWWH

W= Whole Note
H= Half Note

So yeah, take the 1st and the 5th Note and you get a power Chord being B, F#.

The best thing you can ever do on a guitar (and to impress other guitar players) is to learn all your notes on the fretboard, that way you can put the power chord position anywhere an know what the notes are.
