Analgrinder, I WANT TO JAM WITH YOU, that is the best list here!:headbang:
Although I would trade out Scotty and Snake for Trey Azagoth and Dimebag.

Actually i think Scotty Hill was the better player in SkidRow. Quite under- rated IMAO :headbang:

But I love Dave rythm playing style...

I love this guitarist but I'm not really influenced by him. Trey playing is like something from an other world for me (like Steve Vai but for DM world)

Btw I'm not againt a jam with you

Snake and Scotti were such a great team back in the day. On the first two Skids records (especially the first) is some really tasty playing and some great solos by Scotti.

EVH- Nuff Sed

DIME- Changed my life. The way I try and live my life etc. It's all because of Dime. I even wear a razor necklace.

LOOMIS- He's pretty good.

ROMEO- Taught me all about the right hand.

SATCH- Melodies so tasty I could eat them.

PETRUCCI- ......

DONAIS- Taught me about soloing

STUMP- A good buddy of mine, as well as my last teacher, he taught me all about the theory side of music and how to make it metal.

BREAM- This man is my all time favorite guitar player. Really incredible musician.

RHOADS- The O.G that made classical music and metal like Peanut Butter and Chocolate for me. I realize Blackmore is the godfather of Neoclassical but Rhoads took it to another level Warcraft style.

BLACKMORE- The Godfather.

My list from most influential to least...

No love for Andy LaRoque here? Definitely one of my favorite guitar players ever, great combination of shred and melody.

Anders Bjorler - For the riffz

James Hetfield - See above

James Murphy - Dude, not to kiss your ass but I absolutely love your style, especially the leads you played on Low.

Bill Steer/Michael Amott - Yep.

Trey Azagthoth - This guy definitely knows what a good riff sounds like. I miss the days when death metal guitarists worried about writing good riffs instead of widdly-widdly-widdly-look at mah skillz!! (I'm a bitter old-school guy, so definitely IMO )

There are tons more guitarists that I love but these guys have definitely influenced me the most.

Adrian Smith
Michael Romeo
Randy Rhoads
SRV
David Gilmour
Dave Mustaine
Marty Friedman
Chuck Schuldiner
Trey Azagthoth
Jimmy Page
Glenn Tipton

Edit: Oh fuck, how could I ever forget Shawn Lane and Jason Becker?? :D

KK Downing - he is the man #1 for me
Dave Murray - such a fluid player, his fingers are fun to watch
Akio Shimizu - Anthem...really good shredder, but very tasteful
James Hetfield - super-tight rhythm
Henrik Danhage - Everygrey...he is a freakin badass
Reb Beach - "tapping's my thing" was hysterical when he told me that!
Joe Satriani - the chords alone are great...and then the soloing...
Emily Remler - jazz guitarist...really good
Mathias Jabs - very nice and melodic
Pat O'Brien - sick sick sick
Scott Ian - another rhythm monster
Albert Collins - if you don't have the Collins/Cray/Copeland CD "Showdown!", shame on you
Marco Sfogli - great work on Elements of Persuasion
Eric Peterson - yet another sick rhythm master
Joe Bonamassa - monster player
Petrucci / Gilbert / Becker / Skolnick - of course

Made me grab a guitar and inspired most of my playing :

Dimebag Darrell
Andreas Kisser / Max Cavalera

And then :

Jim Root / Mick Thompson
Stephen Carpenter (Deftones) / the 36 Crazyfists guy
Jerry Cantrell (AIC), the Pearl Jam/Mad Season/Soundgarden/temple of the dog guys
Fletcher Dragge (Pennywise)
the Glassjaw dudes
Joe Satriani (back in the days) & Andy Timmons
Kirk Weindstein / Pepper Keenan (DOWN / Crowbar / COC)
The Cannibal Corpse dudes
John Gallagher / Sparky Voyles (Dying Fetus / Misery Index)
the Madball / Merauder / Rag Men / Skarhead / Wisdom in chains / Earth Crisis dudes
the E Town Concrete / Downset / Body Count dudes
the Vision of Disorder / Bloodsimple (2d album) dudes
Ole / Saïd (Eyeless)
Trey Azagtoth
Jeff Loomis
the Hatesphere dudes
the Exodus & Testament dudes
Dino Cazares
the Coyle brothers (God Forbid)
the Killswitch Engage dudes

p.s: not that influential on my playing, but along the sides of SEPULTURA & PANTERA i mainly picked up a guitar thanks to my Dad who is a guitar player and huge Mark Knopfler/Dire Straits fanboy, as well as the Jimmy Hendrix records he was playing at home

p.s 2 : there is a lot of guitar players i dig but they do not really influence my playing (QOTSA dudes, Immolation dudes, Cryptopsy dudes, All Shall Perish dudes, Rob Arnold from Chimaira...)
