Simple vocal question

Band has a singer and a guy who sings harmonies
Is it better for my mix to have one guy sing all of the parts, or to have the one guy do the harmonies he does live?

I would say just see Wich one sounds better. And have them do it. I've have drummer do vocals before because there singer couldn't hack it.

Mkay they're both pretty good.
I was just wondering if it matters when your hearing one or two voices how that effects the mix.
but yea what you guys are saying makes sense lol
just using whichever sounds better.

I always feel like 2 different people sounds better. It's much more unique.
On the flip side, if their voices don't blend well, it may not be pleasing on the ears.

If you aligning the vocals super tight on top of each other it should sound decent! But if slightly out, then it'll sound amateur regardless of how good the other vocalist is IMHO!
