HI i got just an SM7b yet, i know that its one of the best mics out there for screaming vocs but can i use with good results on my 4*12 cabinet (vintage 30)? I think i read somwhere that in flames used it on guitars...

they used to use two mics , both sm57 I think, one angled one straight, dunno about the newer records.

I got my SM7b last week and tried it on my Engl 4x12 Standard (upgraded with V30s). I kinda liked it. Its not as rough and agressive as a 57 but pretty useable. Why have you opened a thread for this? Just simply try it out for gods sake ;-)

I just tried it with Mesa 2x12 (V30 & Black Shadow) cabinet last weekend. Works pretty good. In this case was better than SM57. Reamped using JeffTD's DI and backing track. Quad tracked with 6505 and Mesa Dual Rectifier.

Dude you and Lasse should COMBINE your two rose of sharyn guitar sounds. His holds that tight low-Mid sound and yours has the presence that his missed. HIT HIM UP AND DO IT i bet it sound Killer.
