YOU ONLY HAD GUITAR SOLOS!

Skyfire would be the best if they did.. up their with Children of Bodom and Kalmah if anything.. You guys are fucking great otherwise but still.. WHY NOT THE SOLOS >> COOL ASS LEADS >> BUT NO SOLOS?!?!?!

Random guitar solos would make them worse if you ask me.

sorry, i just had to roll my eyes because this comment is so common it annoys me.

no need for the random shit.. just have solos in every song and that'd be fuckin' killer.

That's what he means, I think. If you just throw solos in every song, they're not going to be very high quality. If they end up doing a solo, I'm sure it'll be super-high quality, because it'll be one of the few they do.

uh... yea.

but they have really fuckin' cool leads, they could just go from a lead into a solo like how Kalmah does it.

But Skyfire are still fucking cool with or without solos.

uh oh, the solo debate again :p

Skyfire thus far have done excellent without using solos and I personally feel there arent huge gaps where one is really needed.

Would definitly be cool, but if they were to do one now, itd have to be on par with December Flower or something :p ;)

A couple of solos would cool, yes, since these guys can play guitars and keyboards really well. But if you don't add solos then also don't tease the listeners with some leads that sound like intros to solos, but end up as some average riffs...like they did on "Effusion of Strenght". There are lots of bands that use only a couple of solos on their albums...so I don't see how solos could ruin anything...

Now that, my friend, is how a solo is done.

So far I can honestly say that there is not a single Skyfire song that has disappointed me yet. There are not many bands who have done that. Disappointment is a measure of how well something lives up to your expectations, and so if I expect a lot (which I do, don't get me wrong), it's easier to be disappointed. If Skyfire were to do a solo, expectations from everyone, not just myself or the rest of the people here, would be astronomical considering how well they play everything else. We all know that they could do a shredding solo that's really fast and hard to play, but would that really be enough from Skyfire? Nah, not at all, it would have to be one of those solos that's played with so much feeling and emotion that you can't even catch it all at once and you have to rewind your CD player back to the beginning of the solo and listen again. And I wouldn't expect any less from any solos on any songs. Personally, I think they can do it. But that's easy for me to say, as I'm not the one writing it.

Damn. Lost my train of thought.

All of us fuckin' metalheads would love to hear skyfire do a solo don't even try to deny that. I like skyfire's keyboards more than the guitars because skyfire sometimes I've noticed used carcass riffs and other bands too but don't get me wrong skyfire is one of my favorite bands and as a fan of them I would think they would be better with guitar solos..

Oh yes - Kalmah I can compare to Skyfire because they are both really fucking good.. Kalmah though i think are better but their also my favorite band.

Antti Kokko (lead guitarist) from Kalmah does have some sloppy solos when he was with Eternal Tears of Sorrow. Other than that I think their solos are fuckin' melodic and cool as hell.

i think he uses a jackson guitar or something but it sounds great

his tone is really.. nasal...? I like kalmah too, but they don't have much on Skyfire in the song writing department if you ask me.

I absolutly LOVE Eternal Tears of Sorrow, the emotion in that band is just... powerful.

I don't really care about the solos. It would be kickass, but solos just wouldn't fit in most of their songs. And if the solo was anything short of pefrect, they'd get bashed. I'd rather see more bass and drums- maybe some more complex drumbeats while their at it.

If You want random guitar solos check out Nocturnus' "The Key" they are so overused here that it gets annoying on repeated listens IMO.

I'll pass :tickled:

And maybe some lyrics that don't give me headaches trying to understand them, while I'm at it. If I want to think, I'll go read my English Honors textbook.

Skyfire's lyrics kick a whole lot of ass. A lot of times they can be interpreted in like fifty million different ways. We had a thread about lyrics interpretation, I think it was before your time, youngin. We had ideas about what the lyrics for every song on Timeless and Mind Revolution meant. We should do one for Spectral too but I'm too lazy right now, maybe tomorrow if nobody else does.
