whats the difference? IS there a difference? i hate having to go through a certain type of player to trigger samples. Im recording line in mics, so what should i get? From my understanding the slate digital is basically a drum replacement vst, kinda like drumagog. and ssd 4.0 is basically the sampler, which needs midi for it to be triggered. Someone please inform me on whats poppin lol

With SSD 4.0 you can only play slate samples via midi. Trigger comes with a few slate samples and you can load your own samples or any sample you find, also has the ability to output midi.

ok,

If i purchase Slate Digital Platinum, will i get most of the samples?

Is there a way for me to trigger samples from SSD4 if i record drums with microphone signals?

What should i get? considering i record drums with mics, and stuff. Does SSD4 come with wav. files?

ReGate-turn on the send MIDI note feature-tune to liking-send output to track with SSD4

Get Trigger if you're dealing with sound files. If you have MIDI tracks, then get SSD4. Whenever I have MIDI I have to do some crappy roundabout thing with Addictive Drums and Trigger, but it gets the job done.

Two completely different products for different markets.

I record drums but want more options than just the recorded sounds = TRIGGER

I'm a songwriter and I need drum sounds for my music = SSD4

I'm an engineer or drummer and I want to play an electronic kit to get killer studio drum tracks = SSD4

who's ungrateful? it's a business, it's supposed to make money... it's not like he's doing it for fun.

I'm a songwriter and I need drum sounds for my music + enhance them with more than 1 sample, which i don't think is too much to ask = SSD + Trigger

in any way i'm definitely buying SSD 4.0 when you're having a sale. maybe both SSD and trigger if you'll have a special price or "2 for the price of 1"

any intel on when that might be? :Smokin: :Smokin: :Smokin:

Slate, you should drop in on the AES convention in St. Louis this weekend. I only dropped about $330 on Trigger Platinum and SSD 4.0 Platinum. Worth every penny. Both have definately improved my writing and mixes. I need a Slate T-shirt now. haha
