*humble opinion* - Slipknot are not my favourite band (at all!!!), but I really reckon that their music is quite appreciative. They have an awsome drummer. About their lyrics, the only one I really paid attention was Vermillion part2, because is really good.
In 1998/9 I've listened to Slipknot album several times, because most part of people listened to it (and they were not so overrated as they are today). I like some stuff from that album like the track Liberate.
I already saw them live (2 or 3 years ago), and I must say they gave a really good gig actually.
I think Slipknot is a good band to despise or enjoy. I prefer to enjoy it, but not to love it...:Smug:

I listened to two whole Slipknot CDs. They have a thousand ways of saying that the world sucks? Wow, those song meanings are completly dumb. All you have to do is read the lyrics to understand that. Why bother with an interpretitive site? There isn't anything the lyrics have to offer. Get the point yet? And, about the rest of your argument, I guess the pattern thing wen't over your head. No, they didn't copy anyone, but at the same time, they are incredibly unoriginal. They are fucking trendwhores, okay? I'm glad I got you to admit that there is such a thing as crappy music. It has nothing to do with opinions. The problem is that it is impossible to prove that a band is better. The idea that art is subjective is false. Part of it is, but not quality. If it were broken down on an incredibly detailed level, it would actually be possible to prove that slipknot is worse then any of the three bands above. The thing about humans is that we can get the general idea and see through and tell what band is worse without making a hundred page proof about it. Some people are better at that then others. obviously. It is tied to both maturity and experiance with music. I can say that I've listened to hundreds of bands and my tastes have grown. There was a time when I would have liked slipknot. slipknot is not beyond my powers of comprehension. I have grown past that and can say now that they suck. Hopefully, some day you will too.

Agreed, back in 7th grade i loved slipknot. But as grew i begain to listen to more and more music. It soon became clear, that slipknot is garbage. I enjoy listening to rich and full music not just mindless dribble.

If you are intellegent enough, there wil be a day when you also come to the realization that there is just much better music out there. For your own sake, i hope this time comes soon.
