I find it funny that some 12 year old is attempting to hurt my feelings by using some foul language...
Notice you didnt have one valid arguement in that entire rant. I can tell your getting very sensitive about this, look at how belegerant you are getting.
A period of self-denial huh? I really enjoyed where you copied me and told ME to leave...
look kid, a piece of advice...
GET LAID!!!
Looks like ignorance strikes again
You need professional help. You're don't know what you're saying, you're trying to push your problems to me.
If I'm a kid then you must be a baby.
Got laid last night, can you say the same with your tough mouth?
Get a life, you desperatly need one!
And that is all I have to say to you, you are not worth my time.

This is one of those arguments where nobody will win. Everybody has their opinion, I have mine you have yours, Black Core has his, etc.
I agree, I say we call this a draw. Everybody won. K?

i should have known i was talking to an idiot a while back...

i have the same feelings,

of course i know he is going to say some stupid comment to get the last word in, but whatever.

Or he may post something not so hostile just to prove me wrong...

Slipknot isn't a bad band. It annoys me when people insult them. Their lyrics, at least on the last album, were very good. The musicianship is very nice, Mick can play a mean guitar and Joey is one of the best drummers in music today. They're not terrible, they're not a trend. Face it. If you don't like them, do the world a favor and shut your mouth.

No, no, no. Not in Slipknot. If you actually looked at their music, you'd see that it's fairly complex and that they don't even use power chords as commonly as Cannibal Corpse or Cradle of Filth. I'm talking about some of Mick's underground stuff. He put out some solo record way back, which you'd be lucky to get your hands on. He's also involved, I believe, in a side project. Besides, there's a couple of unique solos and riffs used in Slipknot's past albums that are quite impressive. I have yet to hear one reason why Slipknot is crappy. And one thing that people have been brainwashed to believe is that they use gimmicks. Well, guess what, geniuses?...they don't.

I'm still going with the opinion that this is all opinion based, nobody is going to win, and nobody can say what a good or bad band is because Good and Bad are all based on OPINIONS which everybody has their own and individual ones (even if they choose to hide them).

slipknot is nothing more than a gimmick "band" (and i use the term "band" loosely cause they are such garbage)and a gimmick band is exactly what they are with the different masks and retarded merchandise they sell. their singer cant sing and does nothing but scream and yell with his horrible raspy voice and there guitar players do nothing more than play power chords and i wont even discuss the other wastes in the band. some people say joey is the only talent in the band and ill agree somewhat. in my eyes hes the only "good" one in the band but is average at best.

ive seen their disasterpieces dvd that my friend had and that is just one of the worst sounding live performances ive ever heard.:puke:

I completly disagree. Corey can sing. Listen to Circle, Vermillion Part 2, or any of his other melodic parts in his song. He just chooses to shout more. Plus he has way more talent then any Death or Black Metal artist. All they do is make incomprehsible growls into a mike half the time. The guitarist is a wicked guitarist who plays more then just powerchords (read previous posts on that subject). The drummer is also considered one of the best drummers (not the best, one of the best) in today's metal scene.

Heh, you just sealed your reputation's grave with that one.

Growling well is just as much an artform as singing. Tons of vocalists spend their entire metal careers just perfecting that growl. Go listen to an emperor or burzum album and see if you can sound like that (I'd try it when I am alone).
I am done commenting about slipknot here. I'm just commenting on your comment. And I spent tons of posts refuting the just an opion/ all opinions are equal idea, and you haven't said one thing that validates it. Please at least give a reason for that statement instead of just repeating it like a dumb republican.

Now I'm not denying that growling is hard. Hell that's what I do in my band. I'm actualy hurting my vocals quite a bit in the process. But still, I find hitting those high notes extremly hard. I find it alot more hard (atleast for me) then hitting the low notes (not saying that they aren't hard). My post was more in hate toward the other simple-minded posters and I went pretty simple-minded myself. I was relating more to my own personal experiance then anything I guess.

proper growling shouldnt hurt your vocals at all.

And high note growling it extremly common in black and death metal so wtf are you talking about.

and u said that slipknot has a mean guitar?

compare that to paul gilbert, yngwie malmsteen, steve vai, and other guitar greats and that guy is a pile of rubbish.

Well doing the deep growling hurts my vocals especialy considering I'm not used to it. Dunno why, but my throat gets real sore after doing growling for long periods of time. And high notes are used in black metal and death metal, but not as frequently as in Slipknot. I can do high growly/screamy but high melodic.... I find that harder.

As for mean guitarist, I believe he is a good guitarist. Not as good as some, but he still is a good guitarist.

There was a thread about learning to sing black-metal on this board a little while ago. There where some tips in it, I'll see if I can find it for ya.
btw my throat hurts too after singing like 10 songs by Slipknot.
