Slipknot drummer to play on next Opeth cd?

Why the hell do peoples compares musicians by the solo's they can put out !?!? In my mind, a solo is like a signature... You cannot compares peoples by their signatures ! If you're unable to read an autograph, does this mean that the one who sign it is Picasso or a poor illeterate ?

The only reason I did that is they kept saying Lopez is better than Jordison. While it might be true, I havent heard anything to allow me to make that decision. Lopez hasnt been allowed to play without sticking to Opeth songs. He hasnt been able to show his abilities up front and centre. I'd love to see that, but until then, there's no argument because nobody can say which of the two really is a better drummer.


headbanger1547, thanks for the response. I don't think I was judging the music by the fan base. I don't care how many fans a band has, if they're good, they're good. My argument was based more on the narrow-mindedness of people that say Slipknot is crappy. I'd be surprised if any of those people have heard an entire Slipknot album, not just the couple songs that get any air time. I think a lot of people say they're shit, because they see kids wearing their shirts. If it's mainstream, and kids that young love it, it's gotta be shitty.

- joey jordison happens to be an amazing drummer ... he started out as a jazzdrummer btw. but because he plays in bands that aren't consider as highly intellectual music, everyone automatically says he sucks ...

- and idd, the only reason a lot of people say slipknot sucks is because of the image, and because it's not "cool" to say otherwise, and it is also very important then to say that it is your personal oppinion and not because it's not "cool" ... it's all so cliché!!! people come on ...
you can all say what you want, but when you listen to the first recording that slipknot put out (filled with lots of jazz influences back then), and even listen to the other ones, than you can't deny that it was innovative ... and yes, their goal was (and perhaps still is) to gather as much fans as they can, with their second full album, but they have stated that many times. they want to show people that there exists other music than britney spears and stuff! and they hope that a lot of their fans open their mind and go further, go listen to real metal bands ...
slipknot will be first to admit that they are not really metal in the narrow definition ... they only have influences from metal, as they do from other music.

and seriously: stop the cliché arguments and discussions about this music! it's soooooooooo boring and old!
