So earlier this year I asked some critique on a Sludge/Doom/Stoner mix I did for a group i play drums in.
We recorded 4 songs all live into a 16 bit multitrack processor.
The signals i recorded where:
2 overheads, kick, snare, 2 toms on one track, guitar, DI bass and DI guitar.

Here is a basically finished version of this song:

If anyone could give me their critique on the mix/master/anything i'd really appreciate it as im not overly happy with the mix but time constraints require me to finish the song(s).

Cheers :headbang:

I'm only on laptop speakers here, but the kick is pretty buried, it could use some snap, so it cuts through better.
And the hi-hat jumps out in a nasty way, maybe too heavy overhead compression? I don't know, cymbals sound fine, it's just the hi-hat, that sounds off.
Or maybe too much bleed from the snare track?

great mix, suits the music well imho. i propably would bring up the snare a bit and give the kick a lil more 1khz (not that typical metal click, doesnt fit the music).

otherwise awesome noisy gritty mix!
