SM57 on Toms vs. Audix D series...

Any opinions on this? I have the DP7 set with the D2s and a D4 and it sounds pretty good, I have a lot of playing around and experimenting to do, but I need to pick up some SM57s anyways, as we all know you can never have too many and I don't have any at all So I was just curious about how you feel about 57s on toms? I know Yannick St Amand said the toms on the new Despised Icon were tracked with 57s and they sound FANTASTIC, but then again we all know who mixed it

they're ok on toms... i can't say much because thats all I have to use.

57 are cool....the D2 smoke'em though IMO

57s are really mid heavy and can work, but i think the audix will have done the hard work for you.

And they are smaller (means MUCH easier to place on some drumkits).

i would go with the d2

if you have an i5 i think they make a killer floor tom mic

Right on well sounds like I'll just grab one SM57 for now since I already have 22s, a D4, a D6 and an i5 and that way I can use the 57/i5 for top/bottom snare mics, and also use them to experiment with some cabinet micing as well! Thanks a lot guys.
