I always seem to get mis triggers on tom rolls and if i manage not to get mistriggers things tend to sound a bit machine gunny. I am sending the triggers out to BFD2. What are some of your guys strategies for getting accurate sounding triggers ? Sorry if this has been gone over i couldn't find it.

Hey I was just gonna start a similar thread concerning triggering toms! I usually trigger toms using aptrigga but the really fast rolls, like yourself, sound very machine gunny also. Im wondering how to get around this.

Yeah, I use various multisamples but the real fast rolls are a problem and I find I have to go in and manually tab to transient and put the samples in by hand but making them sound natural is a problem. The drummer Ive just recorded sounds a bit like Dave Lombardo on speed and the toms are just a blurrrrrrrr.....but Im determined to enhance them with samples :hypno:

yup, MIDI works best for me if i'm having problems with mistriggers. Drumtracker works great for getting the MIDI track from audio

Watch out if you're filtering the audio first to get rid of bleed, if you consentrate too much on a resonant frequency you can find drumtracker triggers late.

Try and find a frequency which has the most definition between hits and use that, if there's any triggers that shouldn't be there just edit them out

Far better to edit out than add in or change timing, esp if you're blending
