yeah sounds like a nightmare you got going it might also be the room you are in. this is a little off topic but i once did a recording were i did top and bottom mic'ing of the snare anyways the drummer hit the 1st tom mic and i was getting a rattle everytime he would hit that tom... i was thinking it was the bottom snare mic but on playback it was getting worse on every song....well we figured the tom mic was damaged. but what sucked was we recorded all the drum and bass tracks and had to redo it all...at the time i didnt have drum replacing tools.
