Got my snare sounding great, but the cross-sticking sounds pathetic, thin and seems to have a chorusey effect going on. Very weird. Just using the top mic (sm57), might have a few overhead samples too but I'd like to get this one sorted out.

Tried a few different mic positions couldn't get rid of the chorusy effect. Heres a sample:

If you can't help me with that, does anyone have a sample they can post (only need it for a few bars in one song), although I can understand that cross-sticking isn't very metal ;p and that most (or all) people wont have any samples.

You might try placing a mic next to the shell of the drum. From what I understand of the technique, the sound generated from side sticking or cross sticking is predominantly the shell ringing. Just check your phase when placing the mic as this will probably introduce some. You could get creative with mic placement and make your own samples and just sound replace that shiz later.
