I forsee a distressor with the all button mod, in my future. The best comp I have is an RNLA.

It really depends on the drummer. For a real inconsistent hitter, I'll go with the Distressor. For general control, the SS channel comp.

Then again, if you've got a great hitter, a well tuned snare, great mic placement & the right preamp/mic combo, compression isn't really needed.
