Although I agree with the point your making IMO that snare did really suck

what you guys all have to ask yourselves is what bob rock was thinking when he went for that particular sound. what were his motives? what was he trying to achieve? why that sort of sound over metallica's previous type of snares. as always it's all in context. put yourselves in rock's shoes and then think why it is there before deciding if it works or not.
