So how are people going to tell the original from the rerelease.

By that I mean the cover. Are they just going to use the same ones or issue a new cover or have some cheesy term like "Theocracized" :D

I think there should be some indication on the cover that it's a re-release, just in case the original cd becomes valuable when Theocracy becomes bigger than the Beatles (it deserves to happen)

Aletheian re-released their album Dying Vine with a new cover and a whole bunch of changes.

"Reissued on May, 13th 2008 by Ironclad/Metal Blades records with remastered music, new artwork, and a bonus track (Cynic's "How Could I" - 4:49 - total running time: 41:16)."

Trinitial: "Theocracized" isn't a cheesy term, but applying it to original Theocracy material seems inappropriate. There was some discussion on the album cover a little while back in the thread http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/...-done-vocals-self-titled-theocracy-album.html in which Matt's wife said:
...I would like to see the same artwork but perhaps a few extra pages in the book that cover what's happened since the original release, along with something slightly different on the spine and/or back (not the front! Don't mess with the front!!) that distinguishes it from the original, for those who will have both in their collections.

Aletheus: Aletheian clearly needed new album art.
(Hey Aletheus, are you any relation to Aletheian?)

Err..the first one is the original artwork. The second one is the redone one :D

No relation to the band, even though I wouldn't mind meeting the people who gave me the idea for this nickname a few years back. Their name supposedly means "truth" in Greek.

As for the topic: I'd like *SOME* change in the cover, but that's just me...

You're kidding!! I'd only ever seen the original artwork. Wow, that's a surprising replacement... (but it does explain why you put them in that order)

Back to Theocracy: I agree that the s/t album art is terrific, but I wouldn't mind a slight change - maybe a tiny tweak of the colour or a Roman numeral "II" made with drum sticks next to the band logo (ok, maybe not).

To fit the pattern of Mirror of Souls and As the World Bleeds, the self titled album should really be named after the final track, which at the moment is "Twist of Fate". How about it?

@Trinitial: You may or may not be aware that Matt's recording studio happens to be named "Theocracized Studios," which I think is awesome. :) So that name has already been used.

I'm pretty much 100% sure that you have the Aletheian album artwork backwards. The image of the actual man is the newer one. Also, this thread should now be about Aletheian. They are one of the few Christian death metal bands that are interesting enough to be considered worth while of anything.

As for the Theocracy artwork, I was fully expecting a new cover for it but would be perfectly fine if it didn't have one.
