So how does this proposed government handout work?

I doubt that will happen. I've seen a trailer for this film and while it is pretty bad, it's no worse than something Uwe Boll would do. Unlike Boll's films though, I reckon this one may be a "so bad it's good" film. However, I have a feeling it's going to bomb histrionically, and regardless of how big a dream making this has been, I'm really not sure it's going to be worth all the money and time he's put into it.

My sister did some scenes for it (she used to do a bit of extra work and such), so I have interest for that reason. From what I have heard from her though, Steve had been changing large parts of the direction of the film after having already filmed large chunks of it. Just sounded like a mess really.

Trent was largely involved at one point, and could fill us in a little more if he felt so inclined.

Trent = Trixie Trash right?

and seems that Uncle Kev's bonus is having two effects.

1. people haggling over deals at work and trying to get the best deal for their $900 at JB and Clive Anthony and being real pains in the arse by crowding up the stores and asking all sorts of stupid questions

2. people saving it and paying off their debts, which in the long term will be better for the economy (from my limited understanding) because the more people pay off now the more they will be willing to spend later, when things move towards improving and they are less worried about their personal budgets and such.

nothing wrong with haggling mate , its good to ask and get the best deal you can and potentially save some cash in your pocket.
I dont see anything wrong with it providing it is done in a polite manner, if the person is rude then the price stands, if the retailer is rude then I go look around elsewhere.
Simple.

We *always* haggle. At least, when there's a chance. I mean, you're not going to get anything off at Coles as the checkouts don't have that much leeway. However whenever you're talking to a salesman it's fair game. I had a guy prepared to give me almost $800 of a laptop last month because I asked him to, only when he went to grab it there were none in stock.

yeah i'm off to jb in a little while to try get a home theater system with my k-rudd money. I tried yesterday and it was an epic fail due to no stock on the floor (i guess everyone has the same idea?) and all the sales people standing around socialising with each other, so i'm going to a different one today.

& yeah i bump into the Trashman every once in a while and i'm pretty sure he's having a good time. Our non-rockstar alter-egos work a couple of buildings from each other.

it's not the haggling that is bothersome but the demanding and wanting things below cost, which is never going to happen.
that and the lying to get a better price by saying "such and such a place sells it cheaper", to which the response usually is "then feel free to buy it there since they want to make a lost".

most stores are always willing to make you a deal because they still make a sale and at least some commission but being a cunt about it is no way to go.

and I really fucking hate it when JB or any other sales staff stand about nattering when there are customers to serve -usually because it means they bitch to me about it (even at stores I don't work at) or I have to help them or yell at the staff,

oh, well.

Yeah, I always haggle when I go to JB too, but definitely being realistic about it. Some stuff just hasn't got that much of a mark up on there and they can't move it for any lower. I've gotten some pretty reasonable discounts by doing that too.

well... i managed to blow almost 1/2 mine at Good Guys. Those guys always seem to manage to sell me the thing they wanted to sell me / get rid of, but also leave me feeling like i got a pretty good deal.

also bought 2 porcupine tree cds and 1 maiden dvd at JB tho :)

Lighten up Scrooge :p Haggling recently got me a Canon 40D + 18-75mm lens + 50mm lens + 8Gb CF card + extended warranty for $1660 at JB when they advertised $1949 in store for just the 40D and 18-75mm. If it made other people in the store wait an extra 5-10 minutes, so be it.

yes but you ain't the person they complain to when cunts like you take up all the staffs' time being a pain in the arse. :p

Hagglin' is fine when the situation calls for it. At work, we get the same guy every week (I had him today) trying to get us to sell him things for the same price that he got it for on a sale once upon a time. "You must be able to sell it to me for that much when I have bought it from you for that much in the past" ...mate, I am a shit kicker, I can't do shit for you. Get it in your head.
