So how does this proposed government handout work?

I started reading that thread but got a headache. I know very little about politics except what I mentioned in that thread. I ended up just going through looking for my comments to see what rubbish I was spitting out.

By your reckoning Ferret, I should have been the first one to get mine. According to the politcalcompass.org, I'm further left than Stalin and more liberal than the Dalai Lama.

If that site's any guide I should be getting mine soon.

If it wasn't for the much maligned GST boosting tax revenue overall, there wouldn't be $900 to hand out to everyone in the first place. So before you all go thanking "Mr Rudd" profusely for throwing cash around, spare a thought for the good old team of John Howard and Peter Costello who were forward-thinking enough to put aside money for a rainy day (or global economic crisis, whichever you prefer to call it) while the going was good. The "low and middle income earners" who were apparently most affected by the GST are the ones who will be getting the most benefit from an extra $900 right now.

Although I think the cash handouts are a stupid idea I can certainly use it at the moment so cheers Johnny :kickass:

seems Steve Ravic has been pretty busy making the world's greatest movie of all time!

It looks like a Metal-themed Underbelly with about 10% of the already lacking plot depth and some of the lamest over-dramatised 'acting' I've ever seen. It's amazing how he manages to capture such epic cheese and fail in short clips which run well under a second.

Me and Wenny got ours a few days ago. Thanks for the $1800 Kev. It's going towards flights to Indonesia. Woohoo.

yeah, I remember when Ravic was going on about making the film and how huge it would be.
laughs were had by all to say the least.

but at least he tries.

I've been helping Steve out with this thing for the last few years (paid work, mind you) and I'll be the first to say I think it's pretty horrible - I even told Steve that. One thing you gotta give him though, when he says "I'm gonna film a movie all around the world and do it on some of the world's biggest stages with some of the biggest names in metal in it" he actually does it. Terrible film or not, he put a LOT of money on the line for this. Dunno if he'll see any of it back but hey, gotta admire his commitment right?

That said, there's some awesome guests in it and the soundtrack is actually pretty cool, so there's some redeeming qualities... sorta... :err: I know a lot of people who are going to see it just for the lulz. I think I'll pass.... :ill:
