For 70 bucks,(they list a good bit more) I bought a pair of sennheiser 280pro monitor headphones. All I can say right now, listening to hypocrisy's 4th dimension...is holy shit. I can hear EVERTHING and nothing outside of what I'm listening to. They seal the sound in so well it's scary. 32db response, and with a 2 year unconditional warranty to boot. This should make mixing a little bit more efficent anyway :Spin:
If you've never used monitor headphones before(or heard monitor speakers) you absolutely haven't heard music in it's true nature. I can hear things on this record, I didn't even know where there. I can hear freakin subtones in the singers voice, the scratch of the pick on the strings... it's just insanely wonderful. I may be converting into a complete audiophile even as we speak.
