I was thinking..., thomann (german mega musikstore) offers 30 days money back guaranty. and if your production only takes a few days, you could get some nice mics and see how they are and if you don`t like them, send em back afterwards.

:heh:

go get m cowboy :)

try out the royer 121, all of their ribbons and the at4050 for me and post a shootout :D

i am doing this for about...well, actually no i am not doing this!

The dude that did the cab shootout a long time ago did this exact thing. He had a Mesa oversized and regular sized, and I think another cab or two. He did a shootout and then took the rest back, keeping one of them.

I remember reading in a guitar mag some years back about some nu-metal band or other who bought $30k worth of gear from Musician's Friend to record their album, did the album in three weeks then sent the whole lot of it back.

This kinda thing used to go on with the Soundcontrol chain all the time, and apprently still does at Sam Ash / Guitar Center stores in the USA.

No small wonder Soundcontrol went bust.

yeah only found out they went bust, was at a local store on saturday trying out a 6505, was gnna get it on finance as my mate got his guitar from ther on finance, but they had stopped doin it, i was gutted!!!

If the store is big enough, it doesn't put much of a dent on their balance, and they can still sell the items as refurbished/retour. You see a lot of retour items at Thomann, so :) Just see what sort of stuff they have for retour prices:

Oddly enough they mostly seem to be keyboards (maybe for sessions?), but there's a lot of high grade monitors and PA speakers ;) ;) You can even spot a LA-610.
