it might not be the bestest ever but if I was going to do one of those "desert isle" lists where you can only take XX number of cds, that would be one of them.

St. Anger would not be.

I dunno, I think London Calling is arguably the greatest rock album ever recorded.

maybe...there aren't alot of albums that are as consistently good from start to finish, so it's definitely way up there.

but definitely, the very best album cover EVER.

they learned about being mere mortals on their next, with the wretchedly inconsistent Sandinista

i like sandinista better than combat rock, which is the one everyone loves.

I liked parts of Sandinista but I think if they had cut out some of the dub stuff and trimmed it down to a double, it might have approached the greatness of London Calling.
Combat Rock was starting to get a little artsy, which is why the critics loved it. didn't it even have a spoken segment by Lawrence Ferlinghetti (sp) or somebody from the hip poet crowd? some good songs. sure beat the hell out of the last one, Cut the Crap
