Found out my issue. I installed the update (you need to be running version 2.2.2 for these to show up apparently).
But my directory is fucking custom, so it stuck it in the default spot on my mac (untitled/library/audio/plugins/vst) so I had to move it (and replace) to the directory I had version 2.2.1 in. Once I did that I was good.
Still though, I was irritated.

Figured it out. That's what I get for bucking the system and not having my plugins in the default directory.

fuck, between this and pt9 there'll be not much room for fresh sounding mixes on this forum anymore.
won't be long until someone uploads an XYZ mixing preset for PT9 and every mix in the rate my mix section will sound the same (so far it's only 80%).
I'm willing to bet that at least 50% of the future threads in the RMM section will read "MF sneap presets" in the title.
as the man himself said, don't get all moist over these things, it's great for prepro and songwriting etc, perhaps for the odd demo production, but they'll NOT help you become a better producer, and that's what most people on here like to call themselves...producers...

I loved what Andy said in the last 3rd of the video....perhaps think a bit about that, it'll definitely help you more on your way to become a producer than any preset in the world could.

Hahah, I'm watching the video right now and it's hilarious seeing Andy try to verbalize his honest feelings without insulting the software. I get the impression that the verdict is:
-If you can swing it, record a real drummer.
-If you don't have the time/budget this stuff is pretty good.... but not perfect.
-Don't use the on-board processing.

The update does the update, but it puts it in the defaul directory (on mac: untitled/library/audio/plugins)
I had it in a subdirectory because I put folders in for all my plugs so it's easier to nav in cubase. So I just had to drag superior in the above directory to where the old one is and say "yes I want to replace".
But yeah you have to have 2.2.2 for these to work.
No idea how to help if your on PC.

ok they sound about what I figured they would sound like. Still need to replace both the kick and snare at least EDIT: with LSD kicks and snares of course

Yeah man, these are what they are. A starting point. I think it would end in a pretty large fail if you loaded this up and expected it to just be "good" with your tracks.

Just seems like he dialed them in well. I suck at making overhead tracks not suck ass.
His snare's are nice and cracky as well. Not huge on the kick, but if you threw on another sample it would be bad ass.

I think that kick could sound pretty good if blended with something with a lot of click. It has a nice low end.

I dig the remixed tracks on the Toontrack website. Sounds quite close to the real deal (= original mixes). The toms on the Testament track are really cool.
