when did it become cool to like the absolute worst bands of the 80's (for people who were not actually THERE during the 80's, ya old farts are excused)

Right on.

1. we need some bands that can release consistently good records with solid songs all around
2. that have some real rock star attitude ... not some average guys that just happen to play rock
3. and obviously they need to break into the mainstream on a huge level

I cannot for the life of me think of such a band in the last 10-15 years.

Maybe Linkin Park could get there somehow, but others like Korn, Pearl Jam and others .. while originally on a winning streak ... have proven to have no staying power.

My older sister brought me up on these bands, and that is what pretty much lead to my liking of metal. So even though I never listen to these bands anymore, I still have a soft spot for 80s glam that I am in no way ashamed of. Plus, shit's fun to listen to after a few
