So what's your Top 5?

Still have a lot to catch up on, but at this point i would say....

Elvenking - The Pagan Manifesto
Grave Digger - Return of the Reaper
Behemoth - The Satanist
Mastodon - Once More ‘Round the Sun
Spellcaster - Spellcaster

Need-Orvam
California Breed
Evergrey-Hymns For The Broken
Overkill - White Devil Armory
Riot V- Unleash the Fire

Anathema - Distant Satellites
Fallujah - The Flesh Prevails
The Contortionist - Language
Agalloch - The Serpent & the Sphere

and when it comes out I'm sure it'll be top 5 worthy

Ne Obliviscaris - Citadel

Incredibly difficult, but I think I have to put it this way:

Anubis Gate - Horizons
Destiny Potato - LUN
Monuments - The Amanuensis
Periphery - Clear
Snarky Puppy - We Like it Here

Alphabetical, not numerical.

Insomnium - Shadows of the Dying Sun
Falconer - Black Moon Rising
Sabaton - Heroes
Noble Beast - Noble Beast
Elvenking - The Pagan Manifesto

It's been a good, good year for metal, I'll probably have a top 20 again like last year that all deserve a spot somewhere, but these are likely to be the top five on it, unless a dark horse comes in and REALLY blows me away.

This has been the best year for me musically that I can remember. So many albums are hitting me in the perfect spot. Here's my pretty solid top 5. Of course this is without hearing Evergrey, Enchant, Malpractice, Sanctuary, Black Fate and Distorted Harmony.

Need/Orvam - Best album I've heard in half a decade
Dynazty/Renatus - Over the top band, but too much positivity in the music to resist
Psycrence/Frail Deception - perfect balance of tasty, chuggy riffs and huge, lush melodies
Cyrenic/Metaphor - Beautiful, emotional modern rock w/ powerful lyrics
Teramaze/Esoteric - Deep and aggressive prog metal with great vocals

Brother Firetribe - Diamond in the Firepit
Work of Art - Framework
Tuomas Holopainen- Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck
Dynazty - Renatus
Amaranthe - Massive Addictive

Riot - Unleash the Fire
Slash - World on Fire

The new Riot V is also in my top 5. But I really enjoy the new Slash. Quite surprised with it to say the least. Never was the greatest Guns N' Roses fan, not a big fan of his previous solo stuff but World on Fire is just killer hard rock with great vox by Myles Kennedy.

I'll bite. In order:

Teramaze - Esoteric Symbolism
Falconer - Black Moon Rising
Sonata Arctica - Pariah's Child
Destiny Potato - LUN
Amaranthe - Massive Addictive (BASED SOLELY ON THE SINGLE, SRSLY)
