You don't get to go free after you kill four people in cold blood, just because you write a children's book.

Please, let's try to maintain an intelligent discourse. Nobody is saying he should go free here. There is an absolute WORLD of difference between saying he should go free (which no rational person would do) and saying, as I and several others do, that he should spend the rest of his life in prison.

It's evident some of you need a refresher:

The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position. This sort of "reasoning" has the following pattern:

1. Person A has position X.
2. Person B presents position Y (which is a distorted version of X).
3. Person B attacks position Y.
4. Therefore X is false/incorrect/flawed.

This sort of "reasoning" is fallacious because attacking a distorted version of a position simply does not constitute an attack on the position itself. One might as well expect an attack on a poor drawing of a person to hurt the person.

Honestly, I'm starting to lose a lot of respect for some of you, due not to your position, but in fact to your inability to argue intelligently, or even make any argument at all without this fallacy. Congratulations, you have extremely frustrated me with continued argumentation yet your utter refusal to so much as acknowledge the points I am actually making.

I didn't read any of this thread, nor do I really have much of an opinion on the matter, except that I really think its bananas how many people don't know the simple fact that Tookie never even confessed to the killings in the first place, and that he almost 100% sure had nothing to do with the founding of the Crips gang.

This probobly already has been mentioned, oh well.

you gotta love the US judicial system when OJ and Robert Blake kill their wives, get off scot free, THEN are still held "criminally liable" for their deaths in civil court.

Ummmm . . . that's not necessarily the US judicial system, it's the Californian judicial system.

In Kansas, we just hang the guy before he can even get to trial. Just like that retart that shot Wild Bill in Deadwood.

Which brings up another point: Why the FUCK didn't somebody tell me episode 4 was going to be so devestating? How can they just kill off Wild Bill like that? (I haven't seen the other episodes yet. So don't tell me if he comes back to life.)

i hate it when a girl's jaw gets tired. i'm like, so what bitch! don't bite off more than you can chew next time!

to hell with the death penalty. i say you dose them with a good 1mg of lsd, let me sodomize them with a rake and we all call it even. thats reform people.

You didn't know Wild Bill got shot & killed in Deadwood?

News flash: the big boat in Titanic? It sinks.

Deadwood is based on the true story of the mining town known as you guessed it "Deadwood". Jack McCall wasn't hanged upon shooting him either. He was acquitted in the first trial, hung after the second. In the show he's acquitted both times and Bullock kills the bastard if I do recall correctly.
