I'm now a Data Entry Specialist for Cops Monitoring (http://www.copsmonitoring.com/home.html). I work Monday to Friday, 12am - 8am.

I start out at $8.25/hr and get paid weekly. After 6 months, I will most likely get a raise. After 90 days, I get full dental, eyes, and health insurance. After a year, I get 13 paid vacation days.

Every summer, they hold a cool company picnic; every Christmas, they throw a fancy party; every year, they bring employees to a Broadway show up in NYC. There are AAA discounts.... If I'm on time every day (why the fuck wouldn't anybody be on time every day?), they give a $50 bonus every month. That's an extra $600 a year if I'm on time every day... among many other cool incentives

I start Tuesday, seeing that Monday is my orientation.

:kickass: .

just typing shit they tell me to type, I guess. I took a typing test and they were blown away  I told them not to be thrown off by my lack of experience in the field, because I spend all day typing ANYWAY, and anything typing-related, I'm highly qualified. :tickled:

If what they had me test with was any sign of what I'd be doing, I'd be proofreading other employees' entries, papers, importing hand-written pages into a database... It all seems pretty easy, but with many other jobs, there's probably going to be one thing that will be a royal pain in the ass.

Proofreading? Does that mean editing and shit?

If so, im sorry.

Kinda depends on the market you are in. Where I am that kind of money would be enough money to live on only if you had no car, 5 roommates in a really shitty part of town, and ate only ramen. I have no idea what living expenses or common wages are like where he is.

I wouldn't be able to live on my own with this kind of money, but I'd be able to make it with a room mate with a job that is willing to split costs. Besides, this job will only get me experience in this field, which will eventually lead to better job opportunities in the future.
