Searching through the forum I got some info about the Soldanos, but I'd like to know if the SLO 100 or the X88 ended up as the MAIN AMP on some modern records?
I know that Killswitch seemed to use one for some lead parts, but is there a (metal, obviously) record were, for example, most of the rhythms are from the SLO100 or the X88?
Would be interested to hear how that sounds like :)

I do believe that High on Fire's "Death is this Communion" was an SLO100 for the main rhythms (or at least blended with something else.)

Thanks a lot for the infos guys!
Didn't know about the holy diver tribute...very interesting :)
A pitty that these amps can't be heard more on full records though :/

All That Remains - The Fall of Ideals

Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies

Same amp setup, more or less. 81's on ATR, 85's on ADD, OD808, SLO100 with that Warren Haynes mod (IIRC, some sort of mod), Mesa 4x12, 57 a few inches back.

Awesome Jeff, thanks man! Really didn't know that those were all SLO100, thanks for all the details :headbang:

Also, from looking at the studio photos and vids, pretty sure the Absence used Soldanos for their upcoming album...

these guys had an amazing tone on the last album so I'm expecting something awesome

EDIT: Actually, I think he used a Splawn on this one! But I know he's used the SLO100 modded on some stuff

:headbang::headbang:

Really? I thought he was rockin the Splawn's from around 98 onwards? Unless he only used them live or something, I dunno. He always gets sick tone whatever he uses. Anyone know what he's using now?

haha well that was a while ago...also always still interested in this...but I guess you'll have some clips/full productions yourself Lasse, of your Slo-ified HotRod?

I thought As Daylight Dies wasn't the SLO on its own, but mixed with a Triple Recto? I'm also pretty sure KSE were using 81's by then, not 85's, and ATR 85's. :)

I guess the reason for the amp fire sale has been answered eh Lasse? :) Congratulations!

Like I've said before, the SLO is one of the best amps I've had the honor to play through and record with. So much girth and responsiveness.

I can't imagine you will regret getting it, and can't wait to hear your work with one!

ahhh gotcha Lasse

Coincidentally I saw a SLO100 in a rehearsalspace today, while visiting a band for prepro. Unfo it's not their amp, but I'll have to invastigate the owner and get him or her to let me spend some quality time with that thing haha

there's even a 1960AV standing around there, would be cool to get to shoot a profile of that setup

gotta have a drink now...never spent that much amp on any single piece of equipment I think.
