Solid State Head!!!!

well it really doesnt matter what yall think cuz we have a ton of fans around here and have already presold like 40 cds

Look, I respect your efforts at making music, its all good, everyone has different tastes and ideas. Obviously your going after the Blink 182 crowds, and thats all fine.

But in all seriousness, find someone who can actually sing, and take some guitar lessons...

tubes are teh pwnzors. That band was extremely pathetic. For making all that money your equipment somewhere in the chain sure blows ass.

I don't know what Valvestate means, but it's probably a fancy term for Solid State.

Valve = british for Tube. It's probably a hybrid. A tube pre-amp for the richness of tubes with a SS power stage to keep costs down.

this is correct. these kinds of amps have a single tube preamp and a solid state gain circuit

Somehow, with a little bit of willpower and magic, I managed to get my Line 6 Spider 2 head to sound almost as Tube-ish than my other guitarrist's Marshall Mode Four head. It was the freakiest thing I'd ever seen in my life. I wrote down the settings also, so I can keep them.

I like solid states fine... at low volumes. My Crate had (before it crapped out on me in a few years, like all Crates will) an awesome lead tone, but once you crank them up to play in a band setting, you're fucked.

And did I see some discussion about pedal distortion? :puke: They only time pedals sound half decent is when they're driving tubes, IMO. Well, obviously this is all just my opinion.
