Some asteroid may collide with Earth in September 2004!

I dunno...I worry about things like getting my ass blown up by a mortar or rocket, because we get attacked by that shit every day where I'm at right now. Dude, if you're gonna worry, worry about something IN this world that happens EVERY DAY, not something like this asteroid. That's like having AIDS and worrying about catching a cold.

actually, when you have AIDS a cold might be very dangerous.
but i agree on the general concept of a "priority list of worries".
mmh, i seem to always have one with me - about smaller things, of course - and once i realise there's no need to worry about something, i skip to the next one :erk:

It won't hit and neither will any of the predicted ones either. Jupiter's gravity usually swallows most asteroids that come our way. Life wouldn't have even started on Earth without Jupiter.

Very good point, but dont be so sure about that.
Think about it a bit...you said "Life wouldn't have even started on Earth without Jupiter"...so everything is possible than it can be opposite, so life could be destroyed.
There are so mayn not even descovered asteroids which can impact to us...its not the question "if", its question "when"...

;)

This is one of those things that while I certainly hope does not happen, I would not worry myself about to the point I dwelled on it. If a asteroid decides to hit, it'll hit(ha, like they choose to :p) chances are it will not.

If it does though things will change, and likely change in a way no earthly being could alter in anyway. On things of that scale I just do not worry. Should I survive I would then worry about survival. End of story.

We've heard those things many times. It may happen, what if it does? These are not things I worry about, there is many other way more serious threat to our planet from the inside without having to worry about "what if an asteroid hit us".

Umm... No :p

There was one near miss (closer than the moon is to us) in the early 90's that we didn't see until AFTER it had passed. There is no way they can see every asteroid that comes flying in. The last recent one wasn't spotted until 3 days before it passed by.... that was in 2001 or so?

Not much you can do if you don't see it coming. :loco:

hmm...a bit wrong. they noticed A FEW of them this year, which were closer than moon distance. the closest was JUST 10% of moon distance:headbang:

maybe can hit us, maybe can hit us!! :Spin: :loco:
