Been recording stuff lately and mixing some stuff for fun.

A few different things in fact.

First off is an acoustic project. This girl lives locally and just recorded a couple of tracks. A couple of mates helped out and did the drums/bass/guitars for her. Not finished this mix yet. I've done strings for it but I'm not totally happy with them. It's a very downbeat song. Need to get these mixes finished in the next week or two.

Next one is a pop/punk band. Finished this one today. Needs a few tweaks here and there. Guitars are re-amped through my SL-X and 4x12. Didn't go crazy on the gain, just kept it sensible and I think it works really well. Did lots of editing to make the song a bit shorter and snappier. Samples of the real kit.

Last one is a metal band. I didn't record this one. I just re-mixed it for fun. My mate recorded it and I got the session files, re-sampled the drums, different guitar sounds etc. It's actually just Pod Farm. A mixture of Slate drums, real drums and a Sturgis snare. First time I actually mixed any form of metal

Acoustic Song: I'm afraid I'm not digging this mix too much. It's got a lot of good parts, but the guitars are too bright, the bass pops too much in the highend (should be much smoother), and the vocals are too soft and lifeless and overtuned. I think if you fix these up it'd be awesome, it's got a lot of potential.

Hey Morgan, thanks for the listen. Yeah, I can see what you're saying. The bass is a bit of a nightmare as the guy kept tapping the strings when he finished notes. He tried to stop it, but I think it's habit more than anything. I'll try sorting that out, as well as the other stuff. Appreciate you taking a listen :)
