Song of Susannah

I care. The last few pages of WotC through me through a loop with King name-checking hmself and consequently poosibly making himself a character.

I'm currently re-reading all the DT books and the companion books as well. I'm in the middle of The Wastelands right now.

I'll admit I'm not too keen on the Susannah-being-pregnant sub-plot. Just get to the damn Tower.

waht really sucks is that SoS is like 450 pgs long. the last one is like 750. we need more, goddammit!

i think king himself is supposed to be a prominent character in the next one. so is ralph roberts from insomnia. and those punks from the eyes of the dragon.

i need to read black house. i loved the talisman (though i read it when i was like 10).

Ralph Roberts is one of my favorite King characters. I seriously hope he gets some DT tme in SoS, as well as that kid he saved (did we ever get a reasoning behind this kid?)

I read Eyes of the Dragon a long time ago, so I might not remeber that one.

tried reading Talisman and couldn't get past the boring beginning. But I do have Black House, and plan on reading that one.

I also hope Ted Brautigan shows up.

i LOVE the talisman. it is sponderific fantastikick. the first 100 pgs are a bore, but after that it is pure fantasy/horror bliss. king and straub were on top of their game. you HAVE TO read it before you read BH, otherwise most of the storyline will be lost on you (so i've been told by people who read BH).

what was the name of that kid again?

who is ted brautigan again? refresh me

I think the kid's name was Natalie Deepneau, as in Aaron Deepneau.

Ted Brautigan is the breaker who escaped the Crimson King in the short story Low Men in Yellow Coats, a part of Hearts in Atlantis.

Hearts in Atlantis isn't that important, at least so far. But it's a cool read because that's where King describes the methods of the Low Men (who were a big part of WotC).

As far as I've realized, the Low Men are just henchmen of the Crimson King. I honestly have no idea who is in Thunderclap. Is it vampires? Robots? Crimson King?

My brain hurts.

Black House is excellent, I liked it more than The Talisman, if only because it reads like a small town terrorized by a sadistic killer story with supernatural elements. As for Thunderclap, I imagine it will be King's interpretation of the classical description of hell...or have we already seen parts of it in the end of BH?

cool. I won't pick it up for some time. I only just started re-reading WIzard and Glass, then I plan to pick up SoS. After that it's onto Low Men in Yellow Coats, Insomnia, The Talisman (i'll give it a go again) and then Black House. That way I should be fresh for The Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower.

I didn't think The Drawing of the THree was that good. Eddie's and Jack Mort's stories were enjoyable, but Odetta/Detta/Susannah sometimes pisses me off for some reason, though she did kick ass in WOlves. I'm just not a big fan of the multiple personality thing. ANd now we have Mia, who I'm sure is a big part of SoS (duh).

I think my fave so far is The Wastelands, though the old story of Roland, Cuthbert, and Alain and Susan in Wizard and Glass is a great Western story.

First thing I do once I finish WaG, is go buy SoS.

OK, so I just finished re-reading Wizard and Glass. Much better than I remember, especially the ending with Flagg.

Now I'm gonna re-read Insomnia.
