.... and then took notice and thought "oh my god how did I never notice what this song was about?" This ever happened to you?

Today I had Lizzy Borden - Love You To Pieces album on, and apart from a couple of songs I never took much notice of what the lyrics were about, as most Lizzy Borden is standard shock/horror fare. This especially included the song "Flesh Eater" which I assumed would be about zombies or something. However, today I was paying attention to the words and the song is about eating pussy hahaha!

I still can't figure out Heaven by Warrant!!! HAHAHA!

I mean, it seems to be a love song one minute, then the next minute it sounds like he's singing about a young daughter or something! I've even read interviews with other Warrant band members though where even they've said "I still don't get Heaven" haha!

That's like "Alone I Breathe" by Savatage. It was supposed to have been written for Criss Oliva after he died in a car crash, but the lyrics make it sound like a suicide. Still don't get that one entirely:

You were never one for waiting
Still I always thought you'd wait for me
And have you from your dreams awakened
And from where you are what do you see

Which of us is now in exile
Which in need of amnesty
Are you now but an illusion
In my mind alone you breathe

You believed in things that I will never know
You were out there drowning but it never showed
Till inside a rainswept night you just let go

You've thrown it all away
And now we'll never see the ending to the play
The grand design, the final line
And what was meant to be

In the dark a distant runner
Now has disappeared into the night
Leaving us to stand and wonder
Staring from this end into your life

You believed in things that I will never know
You were out there drowning but it never showed
'Til inside a rainswept night you just let go

You've thrown it all away
And now we'll never see the ending to the play
The grand design, the final line
And what was meant to be

And if this is all illusion
Nothing more than pure delusion
Clinging to a fading fantasy
Like Icarus who heeds the calling
Of a sun but now is falling
As the feathers of his life fall free
Can you see
See

Tomorrow and after
You tell me what am I to do
I stand here believing
That in the dark there is a clue

Perhaps inside this midnight sky
Perhaps tomorrow's newborn eyes
Or could it be, we'll never know
And after all this was the show

What am I to do
Gotta get back
Gotta get back
Gotta get back
What am I to do
Gotta get back
Gotta get back
Gotta get back
What am I to do

Standing on a dream isn't what it seems
Could we then reclaim a dream refused
Knowing what we know could we let it go
Realizing that all the years are used

Tomorrow and after
You tell me what am I to do
I stand here believing
That in the dark there is a clue
I am the way, I am the light
I am the dark inside the night
I hear your hopes, I feel your dreams
And in the dark I hear your screams

Tomorrow and after
You tell me what am I to do
I stand here believing
That in the dark there is a clue

there is this one song i had truble with ....
The dark order By Dark Order ....
when i was playing with them i ALWAYS assumed it was about Dracula ... and it's really about Dracula ,
Even says "killing in the name of Dracula" at the end of it lol
but then Zoran tells me it's about Spiders
i'm like "what the F$#K" lol
i'm still trying to come to term with this song lol ....

How can it be about spiders while it's ,
"undead i stalk the earth at night ,
Killing through ocians of time"
Gatharing lifes , consuming there blood,
Wajing my war with god ...."
lol:rolleyes:

River Of Love by Richie Sambora, I found out about 2 years later it was about going down on a woman, then when I listened to it, it all made sense! "Ohhh! Of course!" :D

Could be onto something there Spawny! Any young ladies wanna volunteer their services? ;) Haha!

Nah actually it was just that I hadn't listened to the words at all. They are really straight forward black and white lyrics about it, there is certainly no doubt that it could be about something else. I just hadn't listened before and only thought about the title of the song "Flesh Eater" and the fact that most Lizzy songs are about horror.

But we might be so bad at it, that the women would feel they were doing US a favour :)

True, we'd be the ones doing the service.... I should've written "Any young ladies wanna volunteer themselves for our services?" ;)

So, any takers? :heh: :D :Smokedev:
