Thanks for posting this, some fantastic stuff there. In fact, it's all fantastic :worship:

I was listening to SOWN on the bus this morning, I know a "Potter's Field" is used for burial of unknown people (thank wikipedia), is the 'Thrax sung from the point of view of an aborted child?? I've never quiet got the lyric, ands one of my favourite tunes.

Hope this does not put you of your lunch.:(

great album, listened to it every day in '93, i'm not a big John Bush-fan but his vocals on SOWN are really amazing, Room For One More, Black Lodge, Sodium Pentathol and Burst are my favorites but i like them all. The chorus of Burst is one of the best in the whole Anthrax catalogue. IMO SOWN is sooo much better than the 3 other Bushthrax-longplayers, much better songwriting.

Out of the Bush Era albums this one is the only one I can really listen to. There are a lot of weak songs on SOWN. But there are some pretty good ones as well. I like John Bush as a vocalist. Just don't like how his era changed the way Anthrax sounded over all. And I don't like the way he sings the old Joey era songs

SOWN gets my vote at the best album by the "big 4", just beating Rust in Piece.

Huh? You mean the best album made by any of the 'big 4' bands?

Better than:

Reign In Blood
Seasons In The Abyss
South of Heaven
Kill Em' All
Master Of Puppets
Ride The Lightening
...And Justice For All
AMONG THE LIVING????
SPREADING THE DISEASE?????
PERSISTENCE OF TIME??????????

All of those albums blow away SOWN :yow:

Antwax - great post man!!!

I believe that SOWN is probably the most complete album they ever did with Bush. Easily my favourite of the Bush era. Along with POT, I think SOWN is my all time fave Anthrax album.

Well, in my opinion they don't! in 30 years of listening to music, SOWN is one of the very few "all killer, no filler" albums I've heard. 'Thrax, Megadeth and Slayer have all released fantastic albums, and SOWN and RIP are proper 10/10s for me. There is a lot of 9/10's (WCFYA, POT, Seasons..., South...., So Far....) but SOWN is the one for me. In my humble opinion of course!:D

I agree...and remember that it is one of the first that was made CD format in mind...you know the end is the beginning is the end....

I would probably say the same except HyProGlo never really got it's hooks in me. Always felt it was a weak song personally. The only one on the album.

That album is worth a 10 though for Invisible. One of Anthrax's most criminally underrated songs ever.

Hence why I gotta say POT is the one for me - only album where I can honestly say I love every song.

Considering Anthrax chose a grunge producer for this album and included a song inspired by a dog food commercial (wtf), it came out okay. They lost some of their edge in the production, not the songwriting.
