People got pissed when In Flames went more heavier with the nu-Metal edge but are liking the new sound that Soilwork by watering down their masterpiece cd Natural Born Chaos sound.

In Flames's new cd rules but not cd of the year.

shut the fuck up newbie.
STYE is a pos compared to pre R2R in flames, because it isn't metal.
I can still listen to it, but I don't think its anywhere near their best stuff, since they have betrayed metal.
went more heavier with the nu-Metal edg
English much?
STYE has exactly 1 heavy song on the album.. f(r)iend.
clayman is way fucking heavier than this shit.

I feel yourpain. I actually really like the album. R2R is more metal, yes, but I really like STYE. I love all of Soilworks stuff and all of INFLAMES stuff. I have the damn Soilworker tattooed on my left arm. To me from Lunar strain to STYE I enjoy all of it. I actually like Clayman and Whoracle the best and they have two distinctly different styles on them. Im okay with what INFLAMES is doing. Their are so many other bands that can do the swed melodeath thing tha I dont mind that they are branching out and doing different shit. I mean we still have Carnal Forge and The forsaken doing the thrash stuff. The haunted is experimenting a little more now and , Night Rage is doing the Dynamic shit. Inflames and Soilwork are doing their own things all together which is fine by me. I like all these bands and I look at it this way. We probably wouldnt have all these NEW SWEDISH bands doing the old school thrash stuff if INFLAMES AND SOILWORK were still doing it. Why would we need them??? Since they are changing we now have an open slot for these new bands to show their stuff. Evolution at its finest.

clayman is heavy as shit compared to the heaviest track(imo) on STYE.. F(f)iend.
Colony the track isn't that good, but coerced existant is prolly the best post jester race in flames song ever.

who cares if they betrayed metal?
who cares if they are not copying their old stuff?
who cares how heavy they are?

the fact is THEY SUCK AT SONGWRITING, and they used to be so good at it!

They don't suck at it, they just seem to have become lazy in their old age.

Oh, and STYE isn't heavy by any means, unless you're new to the world of metal music; In which case, strap yourself in and get ready to have your mind blown wide open. You'll soon see what a hissyfit STYE is in the scheme of things.

I like StYE & RtR and I'm proud of it. I like Figure Number Five for that matter too.

I find it amusing how people will try to convince you you're wrong for liking what you do. Correction, people on the internet.

Not metal?

Oh. You're one of "those types"

Y'know, who take the term metal so seriously they wish death apon anything not metal "om666 fUck MtVee, en MurD3R 3M0!"

Grow up.

During its golden age (the 90's), In Flames and Gothenburg didn't blow at all. (I still think they don't in this current age.. thought I will say the band and the scene have just gotten considerably weaker over the years).

I'd like to emphasize one of the main strengths of In Flames and Gothenburg (esp. during its 'golden age') are the dexterous lyrics. Perhaps it can be argued that In Flames hasn't quite kept up with that strength on their recent album, but I will say a band like Dark Tranquility has, most certainly.

In Flames could be as consistent as Dark Tranquility is today if they could just renew at least some of the 'strengths' they so displayed in their golden age, instead of adding in weaknesses (e.g. Anders singing too much).

Really? Who was doing that?

In general. One mentions they like new In Flames, and you have guys going' "oh, your an invalid with inferior taste".

Mainly happens here on UM, but still, it's ridiculous.
