SOWN Cover

I have it. It's the skull design silkscreened on to the front of the CD case, limited German release.
If I'm not mistaken, that is the way Charlie wanted the cover. They spent a mint on the artwork, artwork based on a Charlie concept, and he wasn't thrilled w/ the final product. I don't think Electkra wanted the skull on there. I think the final cover (in Charlie's initial concept) would have looked the way it does when you fold the artwork out. I can't swear to this, but I remember reading an interview in 1993, and Charlie was a little disgruntled about it.

I myself am lucky enough to have a copy of SOWN from release day, so I do have this cover. Did they cheapen the cover down over time then?

what- did charlie want it with ALL those images on the cover, like arranged in a 3x3 grid? that might have looked cool, but i think how it ended up is better.
personally i think the skull design is a bit naff and cliched metal imagery...

It would have been way better. I somehow don't like SOWN cover, whereas Stomp has my most favourite CD cover ever.
i think the skull cover is a bit misleading huh, its just a white screen print on the cd case itself, it does brighten up the pinky kida background but bar that its doesn't add a lot...... oits cool it seems to be not the standard cover tho.......

I kinda like how this looks. It would have been pretty cool. Even though I am not a big fan of the songs on this album, Volume 8 is probably my favorite cover.
That is what they paid for. That is how it would have looked had been a domestic vinyl release. I think that is much cooler. Just like the inside cover "poster" art on Vol. 8 is much cooler than the actual cover. At least the cover to Stomp and POT are bad ass. The new one is pretty killer too, if not the best.
