Yeah, so I rocked up at about 5:45 (for a 6:30 start) and noticed that of the people there in musical apparel, I was the only person there who wasn't wearing a KISS t-shirt (I was wearing my Maiden clobber). Was going to buy myself a shirt anyway and did so, $45 later. The largest size they had was XL, which doesn't fit me comfortably. Oh well.

Plenty of people in make-up. Surprising how many people are dressed as Paul but have the star on the wrong eye.

A couple were dressed as Gene and Paul from the Dressed to Kill album cover, looked very cool.

My seat wasn't terribly good. Well, if you like seeing the backstage shenanigans then it was good - I was in the upper circle, parallel with the front of the stage. Close to the stage, but as I was to find out later I should have really forked out the extra money for the Heaven tix.

Machine Gun Fellatio are perhaps the weirdest band I've ever seen live. Very good band, not my cup of tea but obviously talented musicians, but... gee. What a weird show.

Grinspoon were average, but everyone else was into em.

After they left, The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" started playing, and right near the end where Daltrey does his final scream there was this joker on the stage posing, and I thought, "I know what's going to happen here", and indeed, when the scream finally came he threw his arms to the sky and the big KISS curtain came down. Quite nifty. I'm guessing this is what happened when Trix saw them. Then "Rock the Nation" or something by some band whose name I should remember, then another song about a bad motorscooter by a band who I REALLY should remember. Then KISS came on.

Well, there was no "Creatures of the Night" at all. Not happy. "King of the Nighttime World" started the set. The setlist was sort of like this (the order is probably out a little bit):

King of the Nighttime World
Deuce
Making Love
Christine Sixteen
I Love It Loud
Tears are Falling
War Machine
Lick It Up
Calling Dr Love
I Want You
100,000 Years
Unholy
Shout It Out Loud (w/ orchestra)
Love Gun (w/ orchestra)
I Was Made For Loving You (w/ orchestra and Paul stuffing up the lyrics in one part)
Detroit Rock City (w/ orchestra)

God Gave Rock n Roll To You II
Rock n Roll All Night (w/ orchestra)

At the end of the show the conductor of the orchestra ripped off his shirt and threw it into the crowd.

The band as a whole felt very distant because of the poor seat I had. It felt like I was watching the band perform for a few thousand people, rather than being part of the audience. Very annoyed with myself for being so cheap. Oh well.

Good show, not nearly as good as when I saw them in 1997 and 2001.

Oh, and there was a very subdued response to the non make-up songs apart from God Gave Rock n Roll To You II and to a lesser extent Lick it Up. A pity.

The curtain thing rocked

Haha you guys didn't get Creatures either, looks like they just dropped it after Melbourne haha! I don't even like King Of The Night Time World, I would've been disappointed if they opened with that. At least the 2nd night here when they didn't open with Creatures (but still played it) they opened with Love Gun!

I was 3rd row back from the very front right in the centre of the stage!!!!

It was bloody awesome :D I looked around when they played the non makeup songs and I was pretty much the only one singing haha. People only sang tears are falling because paul primed them at the start by getting them to sing the chorus. All these so called kiss fans and they havent heard anything by them after 1979! BAH!

80s/early 90s is easily the best era of kiss as well.

Some skanky bitch showed her tits at the show too right next to where I was standing. On the shoulders of her boyfriend as well after paul pointed her out and didnt look anyway until she lifted her top haha! Took her a while to decide to lift it too. heh

The Melbourne crowd was alot more receptive of the non-makeup & Creatures songs. However I was quite surprised on the 3rd night how quiet they were when Paul started playing the tracks off The Elder.

Oh, and 'Thunderstruck', one of my least favourite AC/DC songs.
Me too. Can anybody say overrated? Gimme Rising Power, Playing With Girls, Sink The Pink, Damned, Nervous Shakedown, Guns For Hire, Bedlam In Belgium, Come & Get It, etc anyday!

Most of them only know material that was recorded before 1983.
 Well, I know *some* songs after 1983, mainly stuff from Who Made Who and Blow Up Your Video. And a couple from The Razor's Edge.

I'll shut up now.

:) I wonder what reaction AC/DC would get if this was their set-list:

Rising Power
Who Made Who
That's the Way I Wanna Rock n Roll
Are You Ready
Fire Your Guns
Sink the Pink
Shake Your Foundations
Hard as a Rock
Danger
Flick of the Switch
Rock Your Heart Out
Heatseeker
Hail Caesar
Back in Business
Evil Walks
