Stand-Up Comedy Thread

the best joke on that roast was from Norton

"the world sucks. Carlin's dead, Pryor's dead, Sagets perfectly fucking healthy".

he was great on Lucky Louie(i think that was what it was called, Louis CK's HBO sitcom for 1 ol season)
I miss that show. Odd that it was cancelled, it did fairly well ratings wise.

Can't wait for Regan's special on Saturday. "Standing Up" was hysterical. The bit about the butterfly pavillion was awesome. Been a fan since his first Comedy Central Presents episode and the bit about the Strong Man shows. "Kidakisvadacagagen!"

Steven Lynch is kind of hit or miss, but this song is hilarious.

Pablo Francisco is funny, but he re-hashes the same jokes over and over again, and really his only funny ones (I feel) are the ones where he makes fun of movie trailers and does his actor impersonations.

Wow, I forgot about Tom Papa too. There are so many good comedians out right now. I really want to see a special by Jim Norton, he's always hilarious every time I see him. He was great on that show that Colin Quinn had for a while, Tough Crowd, too.

Also, Steven Lynch rules.

I'm really disappointed that I only caught the last 10 minutes of Bill Burr's special last night... I completely forgot it was going to be on. What I saw was excruciatingly hilarious, but I'll guess it'll come one again.

Also, new Brian Regen 1 hour special on Saturday!

I DVR'ed it and still have to watch it. I can't wait for the Brian Regen. There is a nice block of 1 hour specials, but others are repeats.

@ SEEDOFV...
Lynch kills and is talented (w/ the musicianship as well-of course)
Forgot J. Gaffigan...very good!

Papa is awesome! Bit rude but clean, sharp and great delivery.

Recently bought Jim Gaffigan's "Beyond the Pale" and George Carlin's "Life is Worth Losing". I'm very impressed by Carlin's ability to memorize "I'm a modern man" and deliver it cleanly.

Favorites:

Kyle Cease (Lives a few miles from me woohoo)
George Carlin
Jim Gaffigan
Doug Stanhope
Joe Rogan
Brian Posehn
Gabriel Iglesias
Bill Burr
Demitri Martin
Mike Birbiglia

Dance Cook is an overrated toolshed. Some of his material is OK, but the "BK Lounge" joke makes me sick.

Doug Stanhope and George Carlin; NUFF SAID.

Brian Posehn for obvious reasons.

Sarah Silverman's stand up sucks, but her show is entertaining.

The only good female comic is Bonnie MacFarlane, Rich Vos' wife. Other than that, fuck female comics, they bitch about their kids, lines in grocery stores, and their floppy vaginas.

My favorite comediens are:

Jim Gaffigan
Doug Stanhope
Mitch Hedberg
Joe Rogan
Brian Regen
Ron White
George Carlin
Kevin James

Steve Levine (local Canadian comedien, saw him live a few weeks ago... he was hilarious!)
