Any of you guys got plans to go and see it this weekend ??

Im kinda looking forward to seeing the movie myself... and Darth Vader for all of like the last 5 mins of the film!

It ends 20 years before 'a new hope' ??? How the hell does that wrap things up.....Ah just wait for the TV series lol

.....Any 'force' related thoughts then ???

Valanx -

I sure vote for the execution of Jar-Jar! No arguments there!

I've never been a huge Star Wars fan, but I was brought up with the original trilogy and love them for it. My favourite has to be 'Empire' due to its darkness and open-ended finale.
To be honest, I kind of phased out of the series when I went and saw 'Phantom' with a mate who is a die-hard fan. I think he was saying how great it was, simply because he was a huge fan, but I just saw it as a really weak script with awful characters!
And I'm not saying that to be nasty - Honest! - I really wanted to like the film!

So, I never got around to seeing 'Clones' and will not be bothering with 'Sith'.

I mean - where is the suspense? We already know what happens - there really is no intrigue there for me anymore.

However, saying all this - I hope I'm wrong. I love the original sequels and hope 'Sith' does the series proud. But it has an awful lot to live up to, and that is where the problem lies.

Also, the audience have had their expectations heightened with the recent "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy. People want a good story told for an actual reason, and not for a simple excuse.

But, like I said, I hope 'Sith' proves me wrong all the way - I'd love to know that I can see 'Clones' and 'Sith' back to back and not get pissed off with bad acting, a poor script and a no-reason story!!

Come on, Lucas - Deliver the goods!!

Hi Guys--
I am going to go see it but won't pre-order tickets or stand in line.
I really enjoyed the Lord of the Rings trilogy but haven't been too impressed with the last two Star Wars prequels.
The hype is getting pretty big here, and there will be people watching at 12:01 am on Thursday ... I for one have a life, and my sun doesn't rise and set on movies or television.
Enjoy the opening of the movie!!!

Hope you enjoy it, Valanx, My Good Man!

Afterwards, send us a little review of what you thought, ok?

At the moment, I've got pretty fed up with the media-overload that 'Sith' has been receiving. But I'm waiting for proper feedback from people that I know I can trust.
What I am planning to do is get both 'Clones' & 'Sith' out to rent and watch the both of them. But I would like to watch them with an open-mind. At the moment I'm a little cynical about the whole thing because of 'Phantom', you know? So let us know what you think!

Sure thing mate! I let you know the score if its any good...

Its weird because i saw Phantom Menace twice in the cinema when it came out and both times i really liked it, then when i saw it on dvd at home :Puke: i was sickend by the whole thing!

I have not seen it for a few years now and im actually gonna watch it tonight along with Attack of the clones, which ruled imo because the battle scenes were really awesome, Natalie Portman looked totally lush and the mighty Christopher Lee was in it!!! In fact the only thing missing was a decent Metal soundtrack lol

Anyway im sure im gonna enjoy 'Sith' im rather looking forward to it, im like a little kid with the whole star wars thing though...

:rock::rock:

HA!
Nothing wrong with being a little kid, Mate! If we were all like that for a small bit, we wouldn't take life so seriously! That is definatley a good thing!!
I'm exactly the same with my John Carpenter Movies and stuff!!

About 'Phantom' - it's not as if I've got anything against it, but when I went to the cinema to see it, the mate I went with (a huge SW fan!) had seen it twice and would not stop raving about it! Now, this mate, he has usually got superb taste in movies, but I feel his biased towards the trilogy kind of contaminated his opinion, you know?
I'm sure 'Phantom' is not that bad a movie, but I remember sitting in the cinema thinking very bad thoughts.
Regarding Natalie Portman - I can't agree more! She is lovely! I came across her (is that the correct phrase?) whilst watching the superb 'Leon'!
As well as a looker, she is a great actress!
About Christopher Lee - Well, he is the Guv'nor!! I mean, what a presence!! And how old is he these days!!? Yet, he's been recently involved in this decade's biggest films - Lord Of The Rings & Star Wars! What a guy!!

Awesome mate cheers!! Thats all i need to hear!
I cannot wait! im counting down the hours until i go!!!!!

- btw: I noticed the film is up for download already!!!

Cheers, Mr Troops!
As long as it is better than 'Phantom' I'm interested!!

Also, good news about Hayden C. I can't say that he's a bad actor, as I've never seen him in anything that I could make an opinion of. But I've always had my doubts. Simply because Vader is such a great character he has a hard job to do.

Enjoy, Valanx and let us know what you think!!

As for me, I'm off to see 'Hitchhikers' next week. I loved the books, you know?
And after that, 'The League Of Gentleman' is a must! I'm a huge fan of the TV series!

And then we've got Spielberg's 'War Of The Worlds'!!

It's gonna be a good Summer movie-wise!

All i could and should say about Episode III is "go and see it" !!!!

Im going again next week! and even though i got that workprint to tide me over until then, i cant wait to see it again!!! !!! !!! !!! !!!

-and yeah nightwar im kinda looking forward to War of the Worlds myself!
Should be awesome mate!!

It has to be said: Lucas brought home the bacon this time, there are positive things and a few (quite funny) negative things one could say about the movie and the complete story, but if you are reading this and you have seen it you will know what i mean, if you have not seen it.....See it !!!!

My son just saw it and said it was great--definitely better than I and II ... he will go to see it again on Sunday ... as for me the lines are still tooooo long!
By the way while at school this morning I saw a preview of the new Willy Wonka movie with Johnny Depp. I can't stand his HAIR! It might just ruin the movie for me! :hypno:

I'm not really that arsed about seeing 'Sith', although I probably will see it in a couple of weeks, when all the fuss dies down.

But I can't wait to see 'War Of The Worlds'! I have always loved the 'War Of The Worlds' album, I just hope the film is half as good!

Paxo - I hear you! I love 'The War Of The Worlds' album. It gave me so many sleepless nights when I was a kid!
I do love it - Lynott, Hayward, Burton (even Essex!) do a great job!
I just hope the movie gives the novel and record some respect - remember the Americans made an awful movie-version back in the '60s?
As for 'Sith' - I'm likewise. I will check it out when the crowds have died down.
I'm hoping to see 'Hitchikers' sometime this week, and then it will be 'League Of Gentleman'. After that I will see 'Sith'!

Cindi - Fully agree about the length of the queues, but I'm glad that your son enjoyed it. The movies do have something magical about them when your young! About the Willa Wonka movie. I can't wait for this - they've got the best director for the job, Tim Burton, and Johnny Depp is a class actor! Probably the best of his generation!
As for Mr Depp's hair... Well, I kind of like him for his talent and ability as an actor, you know? So I can't help you on that one.
Still, it looks like a great movie!

I saw it over the weekend and thought it was excellent. The battle scenes in particular are fantastic, so even if you're not really a SW fan, I'd recommend it for the effects alone. I'm not really massive SW fan myself but thoroughly enjoyed it, in fact liked it that much I'm going to see it again later on in the week.

I'm like you, 2112 - not a fan, but I like a decent movie!
A few mates - with an ok taste! - from work have now come back and reported on it and it seems that it is an improvement on the last two episodes. So I think I'm gonna have to rent 'Clones' out shortly. I can't watch 'Sith' before that, you know!

Nightwar it's definitely a lot better than 1 & 2. Both of them I just thought were ok but I didn't even go to the cinema to see them just watched them on DVD but I really fancied seeing The Sith at the movies probably just because the effects were supposed to be stunning, and they were, which was cool. It's definitely well worth seeing but it's not like the best movie of all time - I think I would give it an 8 out of 10. Hope you like it when you see it. going to see the Sith again on Friday and trailers for that Sin City look fabulous, so that's another one I'll be seeing when it comes out in a couple of weeks.

As her royal highness above said, the effects are really excellent throughout the whole film and even if star wars is not your thing it is really worth seeing in a cinema for the eye candy alone!!

I really liked the film, seen it twice already and plan to go again to see it a second time in the cinema :)

Yeah - 'Sin City'!!

By the words of Valanx, I think you have a point there, your Royal Highness!

'Sin City' is definatly my kind of thing, and the trailers do look awesome!
The guy that directed it also made 'Dusk 'Till Dawn' & 'Desperado'!

I have a feeling it is going to be a good summer for decent movies!
