Yes Cindi, you should be able to get Trainspotting and Shallow Grave out on DVD quite easily, they are 2 really good films, so try and see them if you can. I'll see if I can get Little Voice out over the weekend and watch it.

You will totally love seeing Saxon in October, they are so much better now than they were when I saw them in the middle 80s, although they were still excellent then. I'm hoping to catch them in Edinburgh in October but it depends whether or not I'm away on holiday cos I usually go abroad at the time every year but nothing's definite yet, so with any luck I'll be able to see Saxon then.

I've just been having a quick look at some of the posts and was wondering did you meet Arki on here and the 2 of you hit it off and now you're coming all the way over from America to meet him. Wow that's brilliant if that's the case.

I am looking forward the concert and the new Star Wars movie.
I actually met Arkitex rocking out at the Eerie Pub in the Soho area of London in February of 2002. At that time I was with a man 15 years senior to me, and he had an American girlfriend. We've seen each other when we can since then, but I giving up my job, my house, my friends and family (I hope they will visit), and most of my possesions to move there and be with him, but he is worth it.
He turned me on to Saxon. Interestingly one of the first things that he told me is that the movie, This is Spinal Tap, is based on Saxon. I just noticed that that movie is being featured at the local Cinema Cafe not to far from my house.

Regarding 'Shallow Grave' - yeah, this is a great movie. It was made by the same team that went onto creat 'Trainspotting' and '28 Days'.
This was the first movie I saw Ewan McGregor in. Although, I was very impressed by another actor in this film - Christopher Eccleston. I since became a bit of a fan of his and now he is Dr.Who!!!
Best Doctor since Tom Baker, if you ask me!!

btw - lots of pictures and stories about Ewan in the English papers this week. He's currently performing in the musical 'Guys & Dolls'.

Nightwar - i may get tickets for Guys & Dolls, but i am not sure when we will be in London again, and in anycase the saxon gig in Bradford comes first!!! lol.

I have taken Cindi to see though, 'When Harry Met Sally' on statge in London with Luke Perry....(by the way for the girls,, u get to see his naked butt! lol!) mind you he probably isnt in it any more.... then we saw Chitty chitty Bang Bang,, which was great and brought back childhood memories for me..... and in Easter this year we went to see 'We will Rock you' which was just awsome...... you can imagine what happened in the audience when they finally sang Bhoheniam Rapsydy... ( yes i know my spelling is a bit out!!! lolol!) if you get a chance to go and see it...... i can tell you that you wont be disapointed.

I also must agree that Christopher Eccleston is fantastic as Doctor Who, and in my humble oppinion i would say he is better than Tom Baker,,,, But i do think Tom bakers Voice overs in 'Little Britain' are wonderful,

Arkitex - Of course! Saxon is the top priority! No arguments!!

I had the chance to go and see 'We Will Rock You' but I pulled out! I think I probably did a mistake, judging by everyone's reaction to the show!

Yep - Christopher Eccleston is a top Doctor - It's sad that he is only doing the single series, but I can understand his reasons. I just hope his replacement does a good job and doesn't take the series back to the laughing stock of the McCoy era!

Tom Baker is a fantastic 'Thesp' ain't he? If you have not heard the early Radio show of 'Little Britain' yet, check it out on the BBC site, ok? Classic comedy!!

Russell Crowe, eh? Although Mr Gladiator has a bit of an ego and reputation, I think he can be a great actor - 'Romper Stomper' and 'The Insider' were great movies!

Oh! and, of course, he was good in 'Neighbours'!!

Oh .. the Insider was great. This was the first movie that I ever saw Russell Crowe in. I did not even know that he was Australian until I saw him interviewing about it. I LOVED Gladiator, in fact, I have a picture of Russell (in his Gladiator clothes, of course) inside my locker in my classroom. My students always ask me about it when I have it open.
I have never seen Romper Stomper but have seen Beautiful Mind and Master and Commander. I can say that I've never seen him in a bad movie, but I haven't seen all of his work. Cinderella Man is coming out today here (I think) in the U.S. which I will see ASAP.
Arkitex is a super guy but has limits to the type of movies that he will endure. I will have no girl friends in the U.K. to go to see chick flicks with but am the sort of person that makes friends fast (I hope!).
Nightwar--You must see We Will Rock You ... the first five minutes were a bit weird but the music took me over and it was fantastic!

You are indeed a true romantic Cindi. I love your story, it is just soooo romantic about how you're giving up everything to come over here to be with your soul mate, I think it's brilliant. I'm sure you'll really enjoy living over here and enjoy being with Arki even more.

Nightwar - I agree with you about Dr. Who I totally love that programme. Loved it when I was a wain and still love it. I was always shit scared of the daleks, used to have nightmares and everything about them, but that episode the other week there when there was just the one left and then he died, man I was nearly in tears. They don't scare me at all now. I see you can buy wee radio-controlled daleks, so would love to get my hands on one of them, they're so cute!!!!

The new Dr actually comes from Paisley, he stays just about 2 miles from my house. Can't remember his name but he was in one of the pubs in Paisley about 2 months ago but at that time I didn't realise he had been picked to be the new Doctor or I would have went right on over and got his autograph. Remember the one years ago with the giant maggots, I still think about that to this day, they totally terrified me.

How could I resist a true Saxon fan like Arkitex? I will enjoy living there because I will be with him. A lady that I work with at my part time job is from Scotland thinks I am mad to move to England; I admit I do love the beaches and the climate here, but my home is going to be in Ilkley soon. btw - don't worry about your Scottish mate's comments - the Scots have always had it in for us English. It's only because England has better weather than Scotland... Oh, and of course we treated them terribley back in the old days!! But an Australian called Mel Gibson came and sorted all that out!!

Your Royal Higness - yeah, the early Doctor Who episodes were pretty scary for kids, weren't they! The Daleks leader - Danvoz? used to scare me big time! I think that is why the current series is so good - I can actually believe that kids would be terrified watching it... but in a good way, of course. I think that is a good thing because kids need to use their imagination and stuff and in our Hyper-Politically correct times, it makes a refreshing change.
btw, Nice info about the New Doctor, thanks! - his name is David Tennent and he was in that recent 'Cassanova' BBC thing. I'm not that impressed on first impressions, but I don't know anything about the guy (other than he is from Paisley!) and I hope he proves me wrong.
I just hope that the next series is as good as the current one!

David Tennant that's his name, couldn't remember it the other day. Was in pub (Craig Dhu) few weeks back and someonesaid there's David Tennant over there. I didn't know who he was and they said the guy that's in Casanova, but I was still none the wiser. Think it was about a week later that I heard he'd been picked to play the new Dr. I think he'll be a good one.

Yeah Davros, he was well spooky, always freaked me out when I saw him. At the end of last night epiosode, they showed a wee clip of next week's and guess what, tons of daleks in it - AWESOME - I just knew that there was no way that they'd killed off the last dalek a few weeks ago. I just love the daleks, they sort of scare and excite me at the same time - just like most guys in fact lol!!!!

On the current series, I can just imagine kids crapping themselves watching the two episodes based during the War - you know? The one with kids in Gas Masks? Now, that was creepy! 'Are you my Mummy?....' indeed!

[Heart Of A Lion]

I watched SWIII in the week, it made its debut. Now my opinion on it. I simply LOVED SWIII!!!!! It rocks, it rules, the movie of the year! Sincerelly speaking, it overcame my expectation. Great story, fantastic special effects, great acting, everything was perfect in the movie. Ewan is great as Obi Wan, I think this is his best acting in the SW trilogy, Hayden is also great, much better than in SWII The Clone Wars, he displayed in his face the mixing of pain/anger/fear/doubt, which Anakin was feeling inside.
Finally we managed to know, how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader; the sad destiny of the Jedi lords, the history of Luke and Leia, everything fit perfectly.
Anyway I have to say that the story of SWIII is very sad. The slaughter in the Jedi temple is particularly shocking. To see all the Jedi masters being hunted and treasonably murdered is also very sad, it's impossible to hold some tears.

Thanks for the review, Mr Lion! I'm still to see this episode as - some of you may know - that Episode 1 really put me off the whole thing!

I'm sure to see it shortly! If anything, I'm a fan of Sam Jackson and Mr McGreggor, so it is on my list to watch! As long as that bloody Jar-Jar thing isn't about I'm ok!

I still haven't seen SWIII as I promised Arkitex that I would wait until I got to see it with him. I am looking forward to it as I am told it is the best of the three prequels. I had not heard that the movie brought anyone to tears ... I am the sentimental type but am not sure that this is the sort of movie that would make me weepy. I have cried at many films like E.T., Schindler's List, Somewhere in Time, and most recently The Notebook. I know a movie is good when I am moved to tears.
I am leaving in 4 day 3 hours 58 mins and 15 secs .... Yippie!
