Starbucks' White Chocolate Mocha this morning: 8:30 AM

ewwwww but those look so tasty.

FYI white chocolate is even more of a laxative than regular chocolate. that's why. maybe?

i did not know that white chocolate was more laxitivish. i wish they had a proper starbucks in the building here- it'd be cool to go downstairs and be able to get something other than regular or decaf.

i started going to starbucks honestly because two of my coworkers kept talking about how corporate and awful they were.

in terms of worldwide corporate awfulness, Starbucks is actually one of the better, more responsible companies out there. they may be the poster-children for gentrification, but that's just because they're everywhere and the economy supports their proliferation. they actually contribute quite a bit of money and stuff to local communities and charities, pay/treat their employees well, and sell fair trade coffee. yeah, they could do more, but it's better than most.

(I still prefer Peets)

wow, i never thought of them as a weight loss method. they should really play up that angle, only make it more misleading as to how they make you lose weight. i bet they'd make millions- oh wait, they already do.

they could make it a big mystery- "What is it about the white chocolate mocha beverage that makes you lose weight? The world may never know."

doesnt starbucks stuff have like tons of calories and fat? i always hear my two coworkers lamenting about how they can't have starbucks because of it.

Nah, you don't want to piss of Jared. Or Clay Henry, cuz he's a fireman. And a Subway fan. He got real big on burgers and fries, but now....He's down to a smaller size. Yep, Clay Henry.

i dont even think most people KNOW what gentrification is. i certainly didn't for like, ever.

oh. and white chocolate mocha, whole milk. 16 oz. in nadia's calorie book: 480 calories, 20 grams of fat

well, technically it's a meal, at least. for a person who consumes the average 2,000 calories a day. so yea, it's a lot. for a drink.

i think most people of our age just knee-jerk think "gentrification bad" without knowing anything about it. and when they say "i hate gentrification" they almost always don't mean they hate gentrification, but some of the secondary effects that may or may not come with it.

like saying you hate pilotfish when you're actually pissed about the shark that bit off your leg.
